h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

In today's official Department Clarification meeting I was told that though I am still employed, I have lost my job - the team I work in is being disbanded and we are being redistributed. Where we will be working, who with and when is unknown.

I'm glad we've had official Clarification, I'd left be in the dark otherwise.

Sorry to hear this. Presumably "still employed" means you still have an income. You have a family to support.

Hope things turn out OK.

It's a shame writing for h2g2 isn't a well paid full time job. You'd be good at that.

BB with finding new employment

I will still be employed and I think I know roughly where I'll be - one of 3 different teams, though I'm not entirely sure what they do or how they do it, so will go from being the person who knows all the rules and regulations backwards, inside and out to not having a clue about anything. I think I also will know most people's names, though I wouldn't say I actually know them

Don't sweat the little things, save that for IF things go wrong.

(I still am not used to being "the verger" almost 3 years into the job, and thought I was still learning the job, then Covid happened and I had to organise a new job out of the old one, now it's "my job").
