I remember when they couldn't decide whether it was h2g2 or H2G2. And when we could put html in forums. Ooooh, and even better, when we could put html in our user names... thus enabling us to have pictorial names. And when there was a page listing all the user names. etc. etc. etc.

Ah those were the days.
Well, h2g2 is much easier to use nowadays, don't think you've missed much. But it's nice having loopholes and bugs to abuse sometimes

Easier to use?
When there's 2 skins, 2 levels of User Mode and Frames or single pages options?
It's impossible to decide what combination to have!

Yes that's true actually. I have given up trying to understand the referral system, and never even bothered trying to figure out the University thingammy. It must all be very confusing for newbies.

at least they get to start from scratch and have everything explained to them. not that everyone isn't really nice about it and explain things to me all the time, they do, i'm just not very good at taking it in.

I've no idea about how the University system works and my 3rd project is about to be approved by it...

I've written a project for the Department of History (Arts), one for the Department of Human Geography (Social Sciences) and one for the Department of Archaeology & Anthropology (Science And Mathematics) which should be approved next week.

I poked several buttons but they didn't do what I expected them to do. Now I've ended up with three dead budgies, a post-it note with 'Cockles' written on it, and a year-old cigar end. I want an instruction booklet.
