Exasperation
Posted Aug 10, 1999
I finally got it. I worked forever on a user page about "Songwriting". I lacked 2 paragraphs finishing the "rough draft"(anyone who knows my typing speed understands how long THAT took!)
Went to spellcheck and hit the wrong icon upon my return. Guess what......yeah, wiped the whole thing out.
Luckily, Monsy came in about then and I dictated the outline to her.(That took about 3 minutes!)
Anyway, after much "Blood, Sweat and Tears", I got it posted. Any advice is welcome, as grammar, spelling and facts are not my strong suites!

Can't Tell A Book By It's Cover
Posted Aug 6, 1999
8/6/1999......I wish I could slow down these entrys......but s**t keeps happening.
Monday morning Steve Mullins will be sentenced for capital murder. He plead guilty. His companion was found guilty yesterday.
Seems Steve didn't appreciate a gay friends' advances, so he and this accomplice lured the man out for a night of "partying". They then proceeded to tie him to a tree and beat him to death.
All of this I might have passed off as so much more "death of society" news....except for one thing. Steve Mullins use to work for me.
He was in my employ for about 3 months. That may not seem like very much time, but in my line of work you spend 9 hours a day, 5 days a week in the cab of a truck. You normally get to know each other very well, very fast.
I would have never dreamed he would do such a thing....but he did.
What would make a seemingly normal person do such a thing? No one can know.
As my Daddy use to say..."You can't judge a book by it's cover".

8/5/1999...And then today some fellow down in Pelham (the southern suburb of B'ham I work in) walked into his ex-employers' offices and, at last report, killed three people.
"Bubba" has made his mark in the world, and we are stuck with the results......how disheartening.

From the Birmingham News, Birmingham, AL., August 3rd.,1999.
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla.(AP)-Road rage moved to a parking lot, where an Alabama woman was charged with aiming a .22 caliber handgun at pedestrians and then firing in the air at least once.
The shooting was triggered when the woman became enraged after another driver cut her off as she tried to pull into a parking place at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in this Florida Panhandle city Thursday night, police said.
Jeania Lowe, 34, of McCalla, was charged with discharging a firearm in public and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. She was released from the Bay County Jail after posting a $750 cash bond.
"We've responded to several verbal confrontations over parking spaces," said police Capt. Michael Moring. "In my 20 years I can't think of a time when we've gone out because of someone producing a gun over a parking space and firing shots into the air."
"I guess people from Alabama take their parking seriously."
....makes me SOOOO proud to be from around here! This lady is from a suburb on the southside of town. She's obviously spent too much time Christmas shopping at the local malls!

What to Write-8/1/99

I had started a user page on Southeastern U.S. funerals......but I gave up. I tried to read it myself, and got SO BORED! I figure if I won't read it, no one else should be put through the torture of trying!
In the meantime, I've been wracking my brains trying to think of anything I happen to know which would be of any interest to anyone other than me.......can't think of one solitary thing.
I guess that's what I get for making "Useless Drivel" my specialty!
