From the Birmingham News, Birmingham, AL., August 3rd.,1999.
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla.(AP)-Road rage moved to a parking lot, where an Alabama woman was charged with aiming a .22 caliber handgun at pedestrians and then firing in the air at least once.
The shooting was triggered when the woman became enraged after another driver cut her off as she tried to pull into a parking place at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in this Florida Panhandle city Thursday night, police said.
Jeania Lowe, 34, of McCalla, was charged with discharging a firearm in public and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. She was released from the Bay County Jail after posting a $750 cash bond.
"We've responded to several verbal confrontations over parking spaces," said police Capt. Michael Moring. "In my 20 years I can't think of a time when we've gone out because of someone producing a gun over a parking space and firing shots into the air."
"I guess people from Alabama take their parking seriously."
....makes me SOOOO proud to be from around here! This lady is from a suburb on the southside of town. She's obviously spent too much time Christmas shopping at the local malls!

Yeah, I read that in a forum you were in, somewhere. We seem to just get the "Redneck" nuts around here. Trouble is, folks find out about it and think we're ALL like that.
As I remember the forum, I believe you said you lived about 10 min. from the school....I hope no one was involved that you knew.

That's good to hear. These things seem to be getting closer and closer. It's hard to imagine, when I was in school and another kid said he was going to "kill" you, you didn't take it literally. He just meant he was going to beat you to a pulp(or, at least try to).
Kids are trying too hard to grow up too fast, I think..........or maybe it's the parents trying to make them. In any case, I wish I knew how to stop it. It worrys me for our future civilization. It can't take much of this and hold together.
