There's NOTHING like a good back-scratch ...

I think we just reached 10C on Saturday, but then a high of 5 again Sunday. With some sloppy snow mixed in with rains. Winter is NOT giving up easily.
And indeed, I imagine a little asking for ideas and opinions would put new light on traditional tales.

So does this mean that your next career will be re-writing nursery rhymes and fairy-tales, 21st Nederland Century versions?
Somehow, I expect that a lot more dino's and dragons would be the heroes, and the little guy in the tin-suit just a bother.

Goldilocks and the three ? That must have originated in my home village, the home of the Formosa Spring Brewery !!! Before closing, 9 generations of Bavarian brewmeisters.

Goldilocks and the three beers was .. originally by a friend who lived in Russia for a while He heard the story there with three beers and translated that, He and Bob modified it later on If I take a few parts out it could even be published

And the few parts that you take out, you could sell to a magazine. The type of tales that often begin with "I never imagined such stuff could happen to me. It was a Saturday afternoon ..."

I don't suppose that I need to tell you that, even if a story is poorly written, or barren of novelty ... Being read by just the right person, with the right inflection and occassional embellishment, it can be quite entertaining.
Which also explains why some parents can read bed-time stories to hatchlings, very much entertaining them, and others just have no success.

ah, bedtime stories and the requests for that vary. With ages up to .. two years old .. I guess.. the main idea it to repeat the same story over and over again. night after night. I still can replay quite a few favourites on the autopilot, no book needed
then around age 6 or so the unexpected turns are more appreciated. telling a traditional story with an unexpected twist.. the wolf being old and toothless and a practical joker.. the hunter getting arrested for molesting a defenseless wolf, being a protected species.. goldilocks being arrested for breaking and entering..

Oh, I can just imagine the changes. And as they get older, the 3 little pigs might have light-sabres, Goldilocks drives a Hummer from Granny's house to the supermarket.

Too sad to say, but I really am not conversant with the assorted tales to even wonder of future enhancements. The first time that I met the Brothers Grimm, I was already 12 or 13 years old, and found the book (huge and the original version) included in an encyclopaedia set. My parents were not ones for silly stories and such.
In that particular vein, please let me suggest that you give your hatchlings as many as you can. The first time my mother hugged me, I was confused and didn't know how to respond ... I was 29 years old, and had just carried one corner of her mother's coffin to the grave-site.

well.. I'm afraid my kids will never be quite sure which version of the traditionals would be the original one
And yes.. you hinted earlier at your family .. . some people are just not comfortable ging.
I am..

Many a day, I wish I was more open and comfortable with physical friendly gestures. But I suppose I'm not likely to change much more, at my advanced age. Heck, if I was saurian, I'd probably already be stuck in a tar-pit somewhere by now.

oh, men are not supposed to be ging all over the streets.. I think but there's a difference between "not hugging" and "not comfortable". practice..?? old dogs cannot learn new tricks but you're not that old yet
