Hey there - it's all gone quiet on the Rio front, but this might amuse you...hot off the press today! I'd welcome comments...I think!

Very funny! Which book is that from? It doesn't ring a bell... It's not the sort of article that would be part of the so-called 'edited' guide because it's not factual...however there's got to be someplace for it...oh, I know! You could submit it for the h2g2 post! http://www.h2g2.com/thepost It's a weekly publication with articles from researchers - some serious, more not. And this is a good article; quite Douglas Adams-like (shades of the Bad News drive)...there's a link at the bottom of The Post's page for submissions. The probable reason there's been nothing more said on the Rio article front is because is because although you said you'd be happy to change the name of the article, you haven't yet! :-) (see http://www.h2g2.com/F48874?thread=96178&post=795971 ) I don't think it'll be taken up by a scout under its present title. Thanks KC,

The Rio article is now called 'Copacabana Beach' so let's see what happens.

I assume you mean which Pratchett book? The sad answer is I can't remember and I don't really want to read them all again *just* yet smiley - smiley It was a throwaway line from the philosopher Ly Tin Wheedle (probably got the spelling wrong). Plus the 'not quite dead' bit is from the H2G2 books.

I'll check out the Post and see if they like it. It started off as a tongue in cheek article for Analog Magazine but sadly they decided that it wasn't quite what they wanted - though it seemed to amuse the editor.

You could also pop a line to Bluebottle in a forum at the h2g2 joke directory; 'So Long, And Thanks For Laughing', at http://www.h2g2.com/A227440 . It's a huge collection of jokes, some gags, some longer. I'm sure this would fit in well there.
