Hiya KC!
I understand you have applied to become an ACE!
What interests you particularly about the job?

The travel opportunities, the celebrity parties at London's Met Bar, and the ridiculously huge cash benefits.
I don't know. I suppose it's just nice being nice. People get very ardent about some discussions and it's good to calm things down - from both the point of view of reasoned discussion and social niceties.
I'm used to h3g4, but then I've been on it for yonks. Newcomers might find it strange. I like the personalised greetings the Aces give. And I find myself looking at the Who's Online window and seeing who out of the new researchers has started writing stuff. I managed to get one of them to put something on Peer Review last week.

That's great, KC! Have you greeted ant newcomers from the "http://www.h2g2.com/newusers" list yet? How's your comedy workshop coming along? 8-) Did you contact Colonel Sellers about the change of location for the page, or would you like me to do that? h3g4? Was that a typo?

Not sure if I'm supposed to be doing anything...Peta said last week that she'd be recruiting this week, but since then have heard nothing.
I've said hello to a couple of people who to my amazement hadn't been aced, but aside from that, not sure if I'm supposed to be following some procedure. Can't find any reference to it.

You can close off the letters, at egroups, there's a place to update. Request to read the messages at egroups. Then you won't get the emails.
Welcome to the ACEs!
Basically, we meet & greet & help other researchers.
I'm here if you have any specific questions.
