I have just been looking at old posts, and am curious about your radion station. I dont spose there is any way to get it over here? or is there a website or anything like that? an email address??? transcriptions?
an how about the Chilli Dogs??? do they have a web site???? if not, why not? How long have you been playing at the Ship on the Shore? couldnt find a site for it, either-- only a listing in a restaurant guide.
I am going to keep all the names of the pubs you mention in your forums, an' when I get to Edinburgh I am going to visit them ALL!
So THERE!

Aye, I can see you doing a bit of sneaking away from under that crown!
Well I've resisted mentioning it up to now in case I get found out for the timewaster at work that I am, but since it's just you and me here - it's BBC Radio Scotland. You'll not get it on terrestrial radio, but you can probably get some info at bbc.co.uk, if not the actual output of the station. I do a lot of work for the Brian Morton Show.
The Chilli Dogs' short residency at the Ship on the Shore came to an end after the Edinburgh Festival in September, and we've been a bit quiet since then. The dobro player ian's son Neil was going to do a site for us, including some way cool graphics he'd knocked up, but then he naffed off to University and discovered women and drugs and all that, which left three old men to fend for themselves on the WWWeb. And that's why it's not happened. But we'll do something soon, I promise!
Right, get yer crown on again, Queenie.

Thank you for all the info.
I really would like to visit Edinburgh, but it wont be on my schedule until after we have moved into the cabin, saved some money, and I have done enough work on my genealogy to make the trip worthwhile in the research department. Would really like to find my scottish 'roots'.
Do you know anyone who does scottish genealogy? I would love to connect with someone. I probably wont really get started with it on a regular basis until next Fall, and I would expect to pay for whatever service I got over there. If you stumble on anyone, please let me know.
Your web site: would you 'three old men' be planning to do a site yourself, or are you looking for someone to put one up for you? I know this old retired lady who loves to write web pages and who works cheap.
Nothing flashy, but I could get it started. I would be happy to do it 'gratis' as I am looking to get some real experience. I would say that I have somewhat better than average ability, but am not skilled in the fancy stuff like perl and java, and am not wildly creative. I can write html and can cut and paste like crazy, I also have graphics program and scanner and can use em.
This is only a friendly thought. I will not be put off at all if you would rather do it locally. I DO really love to write HTML, tho.
If you wanna see what I have done, my personal website is at
http://my.voyager.net/bludragon
My embryonic webauthoring business page is at
http://my.voyager.net/bludragon/dragonpages
And the one site I designed, wrote, and still maintain is at
http://members.aol.com/rosevlft/home
It's the Teacher's Union page from the School district I used to work at.
I do have a domain, but it is 'parked' right now, until I move and decide where I will host it. My domain? What else? thebludragon.com

PS Do you have an email address? you could email me if you wanna discuss any of the above. Mine is on my webpage.

Well, thanks for the offer, blu. I of course don't have a web site because all my web access is through the server at work, so I'm limited in what I can put up. Ian in the band does though, so he's a possibility. I'll mull it over with them tonight. Gotta run just now - I'll look at those sites of yours tomorrow. You can e-mail me at [email protected] ...Night!

er...Spiny?
did the mails get thru? I got a response to the first one, but not to the er...ah...'longer' one.
Hope there was nothing in it that put you off, or got you in trouble with the evil boss...

Aye blu, I did get them. Sorry for not replying. I didn't think there was much to add to the stuff about Skelly, other than to say what a shame. Of late though I've been having trouble getting on the computer, since five of us share one machine. Things are a wee bit slack post-holidays, so one or two people hanging about in the office makes it difficult to do much. A couple of them in particular don't seem to respect computer privacy, so they're constantly at your shoulder trying to see what you're doing. I mean, they wouldn't try to see what I was writing in a letter, so why is a computer different? Anyway, whinge over - I'm never gone for long.

Glad you're ok.
Just wondered about the emails, especially since yours are configured to send a 'receipt'. I wondered who the receipt goes to. The evil boss????
Noticed you hadn't been posting anywhere on h2g2 very much, so I figgered you were busy at work. Or sompthin' like that...
I've been traveling north myself and had the flu, too. Only home for four days at a time, then on the road. Of course my trusty Powerbook goes along, but when I am up nort' I am supposed to be working/sanding/painting, not playing on the computer.
Along with all my responsibilities in Damogran it's hard to keep up.

PS didja have time to check out the Damogranian fireworks????

Yep, you're one busy dragon alright.
Sorry to hear about the flu. I had that over the holidays, which for somebody with a sickness record of something like 20 days in 21 years was really galling. Did you hear the latest scientific conjecture? That it's caused by the dust from one of the comets that passed close by, either directly spreading the virus, or containing DNA chains which mutated into a virus. An' it was in the Edinburgh Evening News, so it must be true.
Don't worry about the read receipts on the old e-mails there: they only come back to me, but only if somebody on our network opens one - it can't track outside the system. It's useful for us if somebody doesn't do something, then they can't claim they didn't see it if you have a read receipt.
And I liked the fireworks, but this is a small office which filled up with smoke so quickly I could only watch them for a few minutes.
