Good morning/afternoon/evening - whatever it is in your timezone
Ahem - I'm only one of the ACEs, the welcome is not an automated message, as most people believe.
I have to admit that I haven't come across your fields of interest yet, but then hootoo ( h2g2) is a vast place, I'm sure I'll find something for you. I'll have a look later, when I'm back from work, and then I'll come back to you.
Bel ( *old* herself )

good evening, do I call you Bel,or does protocol say it must be ACE'sHI?
Thanks for your suggestions, only got through "cosmology" today(some people make it hard for us beginners!)
I'm in dronfield,uk,Iget the impression you're in europe somewhere.

Hello, you're right, I am in Europe somewhere - more exactly in Germany - what made you think I was ?
I don't think there is a protocol of how to call people, usually, names are abbreviated, though. ( Yours will probably be abbrev. to oo or something similar)
'ACE's Hi' is only the thread title, to let you know what this conversstion is about. People call me Bel, or B or B'E, or even Bella - just as they like
I must admit that I haven't read all the entries I posted you the links to, so can't tell whether they're difficult to read, or is it only the amount of stuff you were referring to ?
Btw, you can do smileys by simply writing < smiley > -without the spaces. If you are in brunel skin, and your link indicates that you are, there is a collection of smileys below the answering box - just choose your smiley and click on it

Guten Morgen Bel,
is that right? you gave it away by asking about the time zone.
I like germany a lot,I was a truck driver till 2 weeks ago and delivered
computers to Mulheim am der rhein(Duisburg) & herrensburg, load pizza's from
Berlin and take dumplings to wunstorf.etc.
where do you live? Are you english(don't take it as an insult!) I really like your Autohofs, wish we had them in uk,
schuss(?) oldonone

Good afternoon oldonone
Although most researchers here are UK based, there are quite a few from other time zones like Canada, the USA, japan and Oz, so you can never know, eh ?
Except for having gone to Berlin nearly 30 years ago, I don't know any of the places you mentioned, i.e. I've never been there. My husband's born in Wunstorf, though.
I am German, and I live in Frankfurt.
Oh, and 'Schuss' is a shot - I guess you meant 'Tschüß'

Bel,
Sorry about the lost"T" and scharfers s. Don't know how to do it on my mac,
it's got other languages on it but these machines confuse me. I was using the word regularly up to 3weeks ago but it's a long time since I saw it written,
Going to shops now for brotchen from bakerei
Thanks for the corrections,
Don

Sorry, didn't mean to sound patronising
I've never found out: what's the word for Brötchen ? Rolls ?
ACE's Hi
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Mar 22, 2006
I'm relieved to hear that.
I've just read your introduction, can hardly believe that you think people in Germany are more friendly than people in the UK - you must have talked of the more southern countries
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find a job
ACE's Hi

Hi, it's me again
Just thought I'd tell you here before somebody gets annoyed over at the 'questions only' thread.
It actually is a thread for questions only, so everything you say, you have to say in form of a question somehow. A few people can get quite 'mean' if you don't play after the rules, so in order to avoid this, I thought I'd better pop over and tell you here.
ACE's Hi
ol don one Posted Mar 23, 2006
Bel, thanks, but it's not deliberate. I normally answer questions and so I forget.
I hope nobody takes offence,it is all for fun, er isn't it?
Thanks again teacher, won't do it again, won't do it again, won't do it again!
Guten nacht
Don
ACE's Hi
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Mar 24, 2006
Don, it's ok for me, I don't mind if tere are a few answers and not questions, but I've been told off on enough game threads for not saying something according to the rules, that I thought I'd tell you.
And I really don't want to come across as patronising
Bel
