Republic or No?
Posted Oct 18, 1999
In a few weeks, my fair nation of Australia will be having a referendum in which the nation decides whether or not to become a Republic.
A lot of people are saying their whys or why nots and I thought it fitting to bring this debate to the hallowed halls of h2g2.
What does everyone think about our little island. Should we give Her Mag the big heave ho or not?

Netball World Cup
Posted Oct 3, 1999
I've just watched one of the most thrilling games of netball ever!
Grand Final of the World Cup. Australia vs New Zealand. Australia was down by 6 points in the final quarter. Australia scores the winning goal IN THE FINAL SECOND!!! Australia secures the World Cup for another 4 years!
Full credit to NZ though. They were flyinging, intercepting the Aussies from everywhere. A very tough game for both sides. But... winning by one still means winning.
I wish there was more of the contest telecast. I was amazed that commercial television even showed THIS match! Sorry, but men's sport gets far too much attention. This game was BRILLIANT!
And beating the Kiwis is always fun
