I'd have joined in the frey below.....but I just couldn't!

Congratulations to the both of you, and may the sleepless nights be over quickly!

I'm no lover of small(or large) "bleacher creatures", but I must say that there is nothing so wonderful as a child of your own. The things you shall learn from such a small thing will amaze you in the years to come......savor the moments, for they are past too soon!

I remember that only yesterday I held my son in my arms....his forearm the size of my littlest finger, suddenly he is 25, and much bigger....and bolder....than I.

I'd say that I wish I could go back; slow things down a bit......but I won't. I enjoyed every moment....as you should be sure to do. These are not "Kodak Moments". They won't be here to peruse tomorrow. Indulge in today!

Of course everything for me is in that slightly surreal phase - Kid and Bride are experiencing cabin fever in the hospital room. Nurses constantly around to feed and clean. And I seem to have become the ball in a giant pinball game (as long as the ball is permanently attached to a phone receiver ).

When we're all home and using the trapeze with a net I shall definitely ponder your words to a greater degree. LOL

But I'll definitely kick back and have a few Kodak moments to savour. Sometime. LOL

Tell the Good Mother I wish her and the child well....

Not to worry.....things will slow down a bit......but not for long!


Then it will become routine.

Forgive the anology, but it's a bit like a new car. God forbid anyone scratch it in the first year, the second year you only hope for no parking lot "dings". By the third year you're hoping no one hits you hard enough so as you can't drive it home!!!! It WILL become routine!

I like the car analogy btw. Let's hope ours is a good dependable brand that requires little servicing and that parts are readily available.

Servicing gets more expensive by the year, parts are hard to come by....not to mention quite expensive.

But, they are dependable, very durable and much like a Rolls Royce......repairs are excessively expensive, but worth every penny!

Mine seems to have a start-up problem. Ignition cranks up every couple of hours and kicks immediately into high gear. And talk about high maintenance! Guzzles gas like there's no tomorrow and leaks everyhwere!
