Hi Bob,

smiley - biroI would combine the first two paras, and swap the info around a bit smiley - 2cents

>Situated right in the middle of Middle England, Staffordshire is a largely rural county interspersed by small industrial towns. It is siutated roughly halfway between Birmingham and Manchester. The County is bordered by Shropshire to the west, Cheshire to the north west, Derbyshire to the north-east and Worcestershire and the West Midlands to the south.

One of England’s greatest rivers, the River Trent, rises on Biddulph Moor and, after passing through Stoke on Trent, runs south-east to the confluence with the River Sow at Great Haywood (just south-east of Stafford) which is where it first attains any significant size. It then heads east to Burton-on-Trent and then out to sea via the East Midlands, Lincolnshire and the River Humber.

Staffordshire has several sites of historical interest and some spectacular countryside, especially in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Staffordshire has house prices that represent excellent value for

money and arguably the best beer in Great Britain. It is also the geographical home for the Staffordshire Potteries.

<Staffordshireis the geographical home for the Staffordshire Potteries.

smiley - biroYou shouldn't have a link on Headers/Subheaders. Hence the link from Staffordshire Oatcakes' should be from the first mention of 'oatcakes' in the text.

Due to administration changees Wolverhampton 'formerly in Staffordshire' it transferred from Staffs to West Midlands in 1974. It seems that most people in Wolverhampton would prefer to be in Staffordshire'.

>The large industrial town of Wolverhampton was originally in Staffordshire, but transferred to the county of West Midlands in 1974. It would appear that many people in Wolverhampton would prefer to stay in Staffordshire.

smiley - biroI wonder if the following bit would be better footnoted from '... situated right in the middle of Middle England'. smiley - erm

'The place in the whole of Britain furthest from the sea is in Staffordshire, the hamlet of Chebsey, 5 miles north west of Stafford'.

I see your line of reasoning, but it goes hand in hand with the village of Flash, being the highest village.

I agree with the edits to the two intro paragraphs, they are a bit clumsy at the moment ( I can say that, I rewrote them smiley - sorry)

'I see your line of reasoning, but it goes hand in hand with the village of Flash, being the highest village.'

Well, no. There's no reason why the highest villagre shouldn't be on the coast. The point is that, as GB is an island, the furthest point from the sea (in any direction, MUST be the geographical centre smiley - 2cents

Hi Bob, its getting there! here are a few typos

>>Situated right in the middle of Middle England, Staffordshire is a largely rural county interspersed by small industrial towns. It is {siutated}
you need to remove this repeated word

in Transport links
>>From earl{i}est times<< there's a missing 'i'

in Rugeley
>>A former min{e}ing town<< remove the extra 'e', and make the sentence start with 'It was a...

in Curious Facts
>>Staffordshire is the most lik{e}ley site <>marked by the route of {Wattilig) Street.<< Watling

>>Due to administration change{e}s Wolverhampton<< extra 'e'

'formerly in Staffordshire' {it} take out unwanted 'it'

there are a few other things but my eyes are tired right now, I'll have a better look in the morning
Thanks L

Hi Bob, please could you cut this sentence (from the Kidsgrove section)

>>>In Hanley there is the Spitfire museam. Visitors can see Reginald Mitchell's famous aircraft in all its glory.<<<

it doesn't make sense smiley - sorry

If you think it best that Reginald Mitchell should go at the end, with famous people, then a link to Hanley museum, where there is indeed a Spitfire, is appropriate. btw the Hanley museum is mostly about the Potteries, china and so on, not the Spitfire.

I suggest this sentence (with link on Hanley Museum)
>>>Visitors to the Hanley Museum, in Stoke on Trent, can see the famous Spitfire aircraft in all its glory.<<<
