OK, I'm a spod. I've finally managed to correctly configure a secure IP firewall with Linux. How cool is that? OK, not very cool, but pretty impressive if I do say so meself. I bet Ben Elton couldn't do that.
I have to say.. Theakston's Old Peculiar is a fantastic pint. Drank 6 pints last night and I was trolleyed, yet this hasn't affected my genius today in any way.. the way forward I fell.

What a productive week - have cracked the thorny problem of how the hell to write CGI apps in Delphi 5! The manual is bloody awful but I finally figured it out. Nice.

Delphi, CGI, HTTP and other boring crap

5 minutes to go and I can end a day that has been filled with poor flow-charts, bad HTML, banging CGI against a brick wall and messing about with servers. God, who'd work in IT, eh? Still, now I can say on me CV I'm a client/server developer. Got some nice things happening, and I've plenty to do tomorrow, but I think my brain can just about take the drive home now and that's about it!

Well, bugger me if it isn't nearly hometime on a Thursday. Been having a rather good time of it lately, I have to say. Had a great weekend away, have been getting nice and drunk, have got a new girlfriend, and generally having a blast. Even work is going well! Jesus.. Burmston is visiting at the weekend, and no doubt we'll get up to all sorts of drunken wiggery. So, in all, here's to life!!!

Holiday!!

Yes! I finally have a weekend away after months stuck in this bloody dump. Come Friday I'll be off to Worthing for the weekend to visit a friend. Good in that it's nice and sunny, on the sea, and generally chilled. Bad in that my Ex lives there as well, but hopefully I can avoid her and not kill her in cold blood, or something.
