Mose Todd ... I was watching Dudley Moore, body double for you know who, on telly this morning. He was watching the Archbishop of Birmingham formally request Blesséd status for a convert, and he seemed to be finding it mildly amusing in a post ironic kind of way

Haha, this is what I was watching (look at around timeline 1:0400):

Dudley (said in a Brummie accent!) is the one in the white frock ... I can see a marked similarity, even if no-one else can (one of the huge advantages of having less than perfect eyesight and um flexible memory). He's not so much bemused as /bedazzled/ imo

Fair enough, and I suppose if the likeness was really there, it would have been noticed by others before now. Trouble is, I'm having difficulty in ridding myself of that kind of twinkle in the eye that I think I perceive both of them as having - although I suspect it might have been there, at least sometimes, in DM's eyes; and it might be only there in my imagination otherwise. Ah well, if nothing else, it might be just deluding me that there's a real human in there somewhere (something I'd quite like to be the case).
Outenbout tomorrow - more beating up, then more high mountains etc; probably outenbout the next day too, as La Hungara seems to need some moral support (unusual for her, and an indication of just how bluddy high the mountain at Upper Warlingham is, sigh gasp) ...
G'nite!

More people seem to see things this way:

It's going to take more than a leap of faith for me to be able to accept DM as a Palpatine ... in my defence, Yer Onnor, can I say that the similarity was noticed when Ratzinger was but a mere cardinal, whereas the Bedazzled persona only revealed itself (to me, anyway) once he became white than white

Someone is taking the P here ...
Anyhoo, today's tasks are fulfilled and I now know that I am meeting Herr Swiss for coffee at 11:00 tomorrow. We meet at a venue south of the town; it's market day; from whence I shall need to make my way to join the motorway north west of the town, prior to my whizz to south east Croydon for lunch with La Hungara.
Did I admit that my 30 mile journey last Friday morning took 47 miles because I got lost? Came off the M25 at J6 ... managed to rejoin the M25 westbound about 15 seconds later, doh, and then got lost in Coulsdon, Purley, Caterham, Kenley (or possibly Whyteleafe) and then found a road sign for Upper Warlingham, which ended in a T-junction - at which I turned right. Sadly for me, Upper Warlingham was about 100 metres left of that junction (just out of sight, round the bend, natch) ... and lo, I was lost again.
I'm going to be just as late tomorrow, even if I don't get lost ...
G'nite!

But then, having acquired a satnav, I wouldn't be able to afford to use it ... not even to go to my evening class, nor my osteopath (and I know how to get to both of those, except I wouldn't be going to either anymore). In fact, I'd be back to carting things home in my rucksack, and using the bus: just like I had to, when I couldn't drive recently
Off to coffee, ttfn ...
Oops, health drink for Psi ->

Gah ... cheap shot, not worthy of you
Didn't get lost at all, and achieved a major result. On Friday, LaH asked me to find a particular paperback for her, one she has been trying to replace for quite some time. Looked on eBay, which had listings for 22 assorted copies. Moi, cheapskate, bought the cheapest and added a note to the seller asking if it might be possible to post it on Saturday; which he did, good man. Popped in as I was passing, en route from south of the town to the M20, and there was the hoped-for jiffy bag (the catch-a-matic and the current postie are in conflict and my poor device isn't working right now).
When she opened the bag, and undid the brown paper wrapping, the copy looked far better than 'used, good condition' to me ... she was delighted, and insisted on giving me the £2.25 inc p+p which it had cost.
You'll be thrilled to know I've used the cash to initiate the satnav fund ... until I need change for the chippy or whatever
I'm doddery weary after a hectic couple of days, so I'll leave this here for you in case I'm not around later ...

Improving!
I feel sure that if you hadn't been unkind about my osteo, you would have had your reward down here but hey, I'm just mean like that ... :-|
G'nite!
