I've always had male cats before so a female will be a novelty. My OH is now completely outnumbered 1:5.
We had budgies when we were in a flat but they were too messy and noisy!

sounds like conditions around here
Yes, that's why I refused my uncle's offer of a parrot Rats are fun, too, but I'd have to babyproof everything, too. Gerbils are more content to stay in a terrarium, if it's large enough.

My youngest daughter would like a hamster too but we already have a guinea pig so I think that's enough for a small house.
Must go Mal, getting up at 6am. Thunder is rumbling around here!

probably, yes. But it's strange having no pets at all!
Here, too! Driving the cows next door wild
Sleep well, then

It's 6:15 here and I've been up for over an hour
Got a small black and white bundle of fur full of energy running around the house

I am but she's also wearing me out She plays for ages then suddenly goes
Earlier I lost her for a while because she fits in to such tiny corners!

Sounds like a cat, yes Enjoy her while she's little, soon she'll be heavy and mostly asleep on top of you
Pardon if I'm slow, making dinner.

We now have cat toys all over the place too
Good for you making dinner, I was thoroughly lazy and got a takeaway

My dear, you *are* a cat toy now
I'd considered that, but too much effort going and fetching it - so it's just pasta with cheese sauce today.

I am beginning to realise that - she hid under my skirt earlier. I think she was playing tents
I had to walk a few hundred yards down a hill and back for dinner

our Jack the Cat likes to do that... He loves summer; with everyone in shorts, he can go around the table and do horrible whiskery things to each person in turn. He's black-and-white, too.
I didn't

Look what my mum brought home for me!

Pity she'll have to stay there at home, but it's better for her to stay in the country...
And her brother, too!

Awww! They are lovely Mal. No need to be any more
I've just had my leg shredded by Mitzi who has been for an hour and has now decided to wake up to run riot through the house when I'm almost ready for bed

Yeah
Ah, so she has a name now? Our little tom's called Morris, but we're still looking for a name for the calico.

Yep, that was one of the first name's which came up and the only one we could all agree suits her
She is currently discovering the use of her claws and how fast she can run the length of the house

Last I heard, our two were curled up in their basket - and unable to sleep, because each of them had a cat chewing on its tail...
