h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I am very sorry to have missed this; but in the name of a more accurate guide, I'd like to ask that an additional edit take place on one of my Edited Guide entries.

My piece on 'The Amazing 42-Minute Gravity Sled' was fun to write. I was thrilled that it made it through the process, no matter how long it took.

Psycorp did a fine jobe, overall, preparing it for your final polish. Unfortunately he reworded one very important passage that completely changed its meaning. I believe the fault is mine in that I was perhaps unclear about what I was trying to say. Still, I don't want the passage to be misconstrued; or worse, as it stands, merely confusing.

Toward the end, after describing the simplest view of the sled project as passing through the center of the planet, I changed gears to point out the passing through the center of the planet wasn't entirely necessary for the concept to work. That, indeed, any straight line that cut through the planet, from surface point to surface point, would work equally well.

The passage was re-worded to imply that the 'sled' was unnecessary, rather than the 'direct-through-the-center-of-the-Earth path' being a non-requirement.

Psycorp did alert me to take a look at his finished version; and, if the edited guide entry reflects that, I just plain missed it during my review before it was put into the guide.

As researcher, and as a reader of the guide, I know that I would find this an obfuscating passage. I would appreciate the editorial team's attention to repairing this crucial detail.

I don't expect instant gratification, I understand that it may take a bit of time to get this done; but, how about letting me know you got the message, and perhaps a time-frame for this minor but critical repair?
