h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi Abi,

I've been running the H2G2 Wilde Awards at A722053 for a while, but I don't have time (... oh, all right, the *commitment*) to carry on with it on a regular basis. Some of the Academy members want to take it on, and have suggested asking to have the homepage moved to a userspace with a login that members can share. Is this possible, and do you think this is best way to go about this?

This sounds like a great idea to me.

How would you go about it? Well I can think of one way. You set up a new account and give it the screen name of Wilde Awards Academy. Then you let your fellow committee members know about the login name and password. I can then reassign the page to the new user account and credit you and any others as Researchers on it.

The only thing I would mention is that you have to be sure of who you give the login information to, because it can be open to abuse.

I think I'm going to keep the username and password myself and only distribute it to longstanding researchers / Academy Members. I remember the problems caused by someone abusing the classified ad open account.

Everything looks great.

Six7s has taken over - s/he's been a member of the Academy for a long time and is a well-respected researcher. Others may also take some responsibility, but we'll see what happens.
