How's she cuttin'?

Maybe that's a particularly Co Armagh-ish greeting... in fact, it may be a particularly late-80's Armagh greeting, because I haven't heard it used in a long long time...

I'll start again...

Hello Luxembourg, Bonj-yoor Lux-em-boorg (imagine French with a Ballymena accent!), can we have your votes please... smiley - smiley

First things first... the weather is rubbish... Although it is not raining at the moment, it is disgustingly dull, which is strange, because the schools started back today, and I always seem to remember the first day back at school as invariably being the sunniest day of the year.

It was a bit warm a few weeks ago, but while all the news programmes were screaming "Hottest Day Ever" as bits of Blighty hit 101F, we were in the grip of a huge thunderstorm and it rained a lot. In fact, it seems this year that when it rains, it *really* rains... none of your typically depressing mizzle we used to get when I were a lad (the kind that soaked you to the bone but didn't look heavy enough to warrant carrying an umbrella or wearing a coat) but really heavy 'cats and dogs' type rain... and it is so heavy that the cats and dogs are half-drowned before they even hit the ground.

That's not to say that there haven't been good days, there have been quite a few of them (usually on weekdays when I'm stuck in the office - I think that phenomenon is related to the 'first day at school' effect I was rabbiting on about earlier)

It strikes me that with all the rain we have been getting, Norn Iron may be about to rust! Still, I love the place, God help me... smiley - smiley

Bet you wish you hadn't asked about the weather now!! smiley - smiley

I tend to waffle on a bit too much, and what with you being busy running Europe and all... sorry... I hope the weather is better where you are.

mmm, the weather here does tend to be rather nice - sunny days with a stunning thunderstorm to clear the air in the evenings.

It's become a bit more autumnal recently, rainy and cloudy, but still warm enough to sit on my balcony with a glass of wine and watch the sunset.

I miss the sea thoughsmiley - sadface, my parents live in Portstewart and I really enjoy my visits home (and yes I do brave the chilly waters of the Atlantic! smiley - brr)
