I think I'm here Of course, I could be somewhere else and only imagine I'm here... or something!

The barbeque went well... lots of food, plenty of alcohol (hic!) and quite a few people I hadn't seen in a couple of years (plus a few I saw only last week!)

The alcohol made Sunday seem a bit too bright and much too loud for a while, but things are back to normal now

The trouble with my account was getting the personal space to update, and it's all tip-top now thanks.

I meant to ask what Bugs is like really? Or might that shatter all my childhood illusions?

Bugs and the other Warner characters are some of the most enjoyable assignments I have had. Too bad they work for Warner Brothers, which does not want to do anything with them.

My all time favorite character to animate is Daffy Duck.

Bugs is a sweetie, but a little difficult until you get to know him. Daffy is really easy. (I refer to difficulty of drawing, actually).

We had a fish broil, as opposed to fry, last night, and I have a visitor coming in from Atlanta in the middle of the night. He has to be Chief Exhibit at class tomorrow and then meet the incoming dept. head. So it should be interesting.

I suppose it is autumn in NZ now?

You don't have to worry about taking a little while to get back to me. I figured you just had to stop celebrating and get back to hitchhiking....

I always had a soft spot for the Warner characters, and Tom & Jerry... they always seemed more 'dangerous' than any of the Disney cartoons, although obviously anything by Pixar appeals to my geek side, especially Toy Story

I feel sorry for Daffy, he seems to have a lot to put up with!

I must look up a map You're in Savannah? That's Georgia, right? (Geography never was my strongest subject, although I remember there being a lot of stuff about rocks and volcanoes, not much on actual places!!)

The name certainly conjures an image I can picture a cartoon hamster doing... well, you know... all over the place!

Much as I would like to visit New Zealand some day, I am actually in Northern Ireland, which is slightly less exciting So I haven't had the pleasure of Death by Chocolate either, but I'll keep it in mind

Your reply didn't make it to Fred's litterbox, so I checked in and here you were. In Northern Ireland.

Not New Zealand.

Both countries have two words in their names, and both begin with "N" but otherwise I can't see how I could have been so utterly confused. Unless you really SHOULD be in New Zealand. Most people should, it is a lovely country.

Oh yes, both countries are parts of islands aren't they. I know now why I did so very poorly in Geography.

I should say Georgiagraphy. Savannah is just slightly north of the Florida Panhandle, on the American East Coast. It is a very historic and lovely city and never lets you forget it. There are real Southern Belles here. I am not one of them.

The specialties here are barbecue (which is a pirate dish, invented in the Caribbean, and done here to perfection) Low Country Boil, which is crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausage cooked in a big pot; sort of a Southern version of a clambake), wonderful fried chicken, --pralines, a highly addictive candy that EVERYONE wants more of; benne wafers, an equally addictive sesame cooky, and lots more. The cuisine is world class, heavy on seafood, but my personal favorite is Fried Green Tomatoes, not just a movie title but one of the best delicacies on the planet.

There are also Mint Juleps but I haven't had one. I did try the Chatham Artillery Punch, a two hundred year old recipe that will have you on your rear end staring at the ceiling in no time. The Chatham Artillery apparently spiked some Southern belle's fruit punch a century or two ago and the hangovers have still not subsided. Two cases of champagne are essential in case the Artillery ever comes back. This is the only Earthly drink that would qualify as competition for the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, in my opinion...a Zombie is fruit tonic compared to it.

I am still not sure if I am going to make it as a college professor but do know that I got out of Los Angeles in time to avoid a heavy bloodletting at Disney's. Warner Brothers, sadly, is doing no more animation with Daffy and Bugs and Company. I loved working with them.

Well, I just got back from Florida but will most likely post that little thing in the Guide later today; thanks for writing, and I trust that I will be able to get your response to this on your webpage...since it doesn't apparently revert to the hamster cage.

I like ridiculous names. Can you tell?
