Hi there Elektra. Great to hear from you again.

Yes! The kayaking is going quite well at the moment thanks, despite a bit of a hiatus with a canoe/course recently. I'm still plugging on with trying to increase the distance and speed and I'm getting a bit of coaching from one of my sons, in a K2 (A double kayak) which was a lot of fun. My performance is improving, but very slowly.

The weather here has improved wonderfully over this last month. It's been warm and dry with even the odd few sunny days, and I'm trying to make the most of it while it lasts. So I'm still heading for an entry to the DW next Easter, come what may.

I'm glad the weather has improved over there. It always seems to be raining here. That is unusual the only ones happy about it are the tree frogs that have a chorus here all night, until they give way to the birds at dawn.

I'm glad you are continuing with your kayaking. Practice makes perfect. It sounds like good exercise as well. I hope you are feeling better for it, even if your 'form' isn't perfect.

'It always seems to be raining'

I know the feeling well. It rather looks as if the rainclouds have migrated from UK to US for the time being.

The exercise is working well for me. I certainly feel fitter as I've now lost something like a stone and a half (21pounds) since I started. This also really helps with flexibility as I can get in and out of the boat with a lot less groaning and fuss than previously. All in all it's going quite well at the moment.

That is great. I'm stiffening up from my lack of swimming as the pool has been closed for a lot of days in a row. So I feel fat and stiff .
