Hey you.
How's tricks.

I am in a shockingly good mood - postively overflowing with the joys of spring and related seasons.

Had a crazy day at work - lots of successful things done, as well as some top-quality larking about. By the time I got home, just had the biggest grin on my face - totally mental.

Feel totally crazy - not helped in the least by a run-in with the Tuppence Bandit. That almost killed me smiley - smiley

"Hey sexy"? Good lord, you are certainly in a good mood. Sure wish I could get tons of things done at work today, but I seem to be having some troubles which are slowing me down somewhat.

You had a run-in with the Tuppence Bandit? But that's impossible! For it is I, Nick, who be "The Tuppence Bandit". Or... was, actually. I haven't been the Tuppence Bandit for about four years now. I guess it doesn't surprise me that someone else has pilfered my disguise.

Hope your good mood lasts for you. What is "larking about", exactly?

"You had a run-in with the Tuppence Bandit?" - OK a virtual encounter - I laughed out loud. Jeez, you sound ever so serious - hope my calling you 'sexy' did not offend smiley - smiley?

Well, my good mood has lasted so far. Getting a bit tired now though.

I can't believe you don't know "larking about" - the dictionary describes it as 'frolicking' which is kinda correct - it is a quaint english term for having a joke, a laugh, having a lark, to lark about. Frolicking, I guess.

Oh, I thought it was more like slacking off. How wrong I was. smiley - smiley

I'm not offended by the "sexy" remark (are you joking? I'm a guy! smiley - smiley). I just don't see how such a remark is warranted. Maybe I type sexy. Type sexily... nope, that doesn't look right. Type in a way that could be considered "sexy". Yeah, that's it. smiley - smileysmiley - smiley

Watch thou for the Tuppence Bandit...

Oh come one - you know the old line about sense of humour? Being funny is sexy! Duh

Did you ever hear the one about the two sexy guys who typed sexily....

Post 7

Frizzychick

I said being FUNNY was sexy smiley - smiley

Hey sexy.

Post 8

Nick O`Teen

Terribly sorry. When you said "funny", I thought you meant "stupid". Don't know what came over me.

Hey sexy.

Post 9

Frizzychick

Oh I feel mean now.

I'm sure stupid can be sexy (when combined with a considerable amount of money or good looks, or both) smiley - smiley

Hey sexy.

Post 10

Nick O`Teen

Well, Frizz, you know, stupid can be funny if the appropriate type of stupidity is applied correctly in combination with a modicum of alcohol or perhaps sleep deprivation, or both, even. This would imply that stupid, being potentially funny, can be sexy, but only when it's funny-stupid and not just stupid-stupid.

OK, Now I'm just being stupid. Don't forget to drink your black coffee before you go to bed now, else the plonk may give you the spins. smiley - smiley

Hey sexy.

Post 11

Frizzychick

Dunno about that - personally I think stupid-funny is not sexy-funny, it's just stupid.

But I am a harsh judge, and sometimes, not always right (but only some times)

Hey sexy.

Post 12

Nick O`Teen

Fair enough. Now, you see that I'm trying to be normally funny but your "funny=sexy" comment has thrown a wrench into my brainworks. Now my humour is slowly degrading into stupidity.

Perhaps it's thus time to play Diablo II. smiley - smiley

Hey sexy.

Post 13

Frizzychick

Oh babe - didn't intend any harm - just be your normal charming and witty self.

I'm not even going to ask about Diablo II - you know my knowldege on such things is slightly retrograde (Jet-pac, anyone?)

Hey sexy.

Post 14

Nick O`Teen

Diablo II: PC game, violent Dungeons & Dragons theme. Known to wreck the lives of those that play it. Haven't found any jet-pacs yet but I'm only on Act II so who knows?

Hey sexy.

Post 15

Frizzychick

Oh, right.

How are you today?

(Note: just don't have the energy for scintillating chit-chat)

Hey sexy.

Post 16

Nick O`Teen

Pauvre Frizz. You seem to have used up all your energy yesterday on larking and happiness. Now you appear to be paying the price. smiley - smiley

Aside from a very mild headache, I'm fine. I'm getting a fair amount of work done and I can't wait to get home to play Diablo II because I'm a geek.

Did the black coffee help you out with your plonky woes yesterday? You _did_ remember to drink the lack coffee, didn't you?

Thinking about the stupid-funny thing, I suspect I was overly harsh re. terminology. I am an "intellectual snob" (i.e. have little time for stupid people - but I guess you'd realised that about me -not too proud of it, but it's the way I am) - so I do not find stupid attractive. (that's what makes me a snob) - however, 'stupid' can be translated into so many different ways that have little to do with intelligence.
I'm feeling a bit paranoid and feel I am coming across as a mean old bitch. Which may be fair in some lights, but - jeez - whatever I try and say I come across as a total cow.

Whatever I say along this line makes me look as if I am a total bitch who thinks I am superior to everyone else. That is not the way I feel.

Hey sexy.

Post 18

Frizzychick

I don't know - just ignore everything I say - seems the safest option.

Well, stupid people bug me, too, to a certain degree. Incompetence, primarily, is rather irritating. Of course, the problem with incompetence is that most people don't realise that they're incompetent. I tend to come across as lacking self-esteem, but it's not because I doubt my skills. It's because I'm aware of the areas where my skills are weak. I am also painfully aware of the vast amount of knowledge in my field which I lack.

The type of stupid (ie, stupid=funny) I'm talking about is like several Monty Python sketches. They were funny because they were stupid (ie, they had very stupid or extremely silly premises). Now, stupid people would laugh at these sketches and then forget about them, whereas intelligent people see more humour beneath the superficial humour. Years and years later, I still recall some old (stupid) Monty Python sketch and find new aspect of it that I find funny.

Look at the CotTW. It's completely stupid. And you're a member. smiley - smiley

I can't explain humour (who can?). There's lots of stupid (ie, 'not funny' stupid) humour that I don't find funny (because it's stupid).

Oh, bugger it. I think I'll just give up trying at this point. smiley - smiley

Hmmm. By my own logic (assuming anything I just said earlier made any sense), I appear to be declaring myself intelligent, which, of course is a debatable point, indeed. I could be incompetent and not be aware of that fact. Or, I might simply be bonkers. smiley - smiley
