Yeah, you!

I finish an assignment and have some h2g2 time on my hands and you "go off and do something less boring instead" (I guess you didn't get "Why Don't You?" on canadian kids TV - (as in "why don't you just switch off your television set and got out and do something less boring instead") - I often wondered whether you got the Crackerjack or Blue Peter references?

Who, me? smiley - smiley

I don't quite understand what you're referring to. I don't recall writing anything indicating I was "going off to do something less boring instead" (I can't imagine I would write something so callous).

I don't actually recollect any particular references to crackerjack (which I'm familiar with) or Blue Peter (which I'm not sure I'm familiar with). Is there some post I haven't read yet or is my memory just going? Or maybe I'm just listening to really loud music at the moment which is preventing me from thinking straight.

I've never heard of a show called "Why Don't You". As a kid, though, I remember seeing a wonderful show called "Vision On", which was probably my favourite show as a kid. It's strange that it's not on anymore (and hasn't been for a long time now). It was a really cool show. Are you familiar with it?

yeah - Vision On was very good - I think I was a little bit young when it was on(?) - as my memory of it is a bit vague, I seem to recollect it was bizarre and intelligent and weird?? When was it on?

I recall it had lots of Goldburgian devices. There were also many segments where they would do unusual forms of art, like going into a snow-filled yard and shovelling out a huge picture in the snow. It was great. It should be brought back.

I'm sort of surprised you know about it, since nobody I've talked to knows about it. Then again, I'm pretty sure it's a British show, so that's probably why.
