I was merely having a bit of fun with the statement you made on your page that I'd try to claim it was all your fault (perhaps you are already aware of this and are still playing along). I was actually hoping you'd read that, just so I could get your reaction to it ('treacherous beast' made me laugh out loud, btw ).

Besides, you can't say you haven't had your fair share of amusement from all this weevil material, can you? I know I've had many a laugh.

No need to fear for my sanity I rarely speak of weevils outside of H2G2 (not yet, anyway).

as I mentioned earlier here, I realise that weevils are not vermin, but it's still funny. Well, at least I think it's funny.

Nick - I'm just dropping in from an Internet cafe in Leeds, West Yorkshire, to apologise for implicitly calling you a Yank. Also, I just wanted to let you know that "Sordid Bar Vet" (David Roberts) and "I Gag Slave" (Gil Savage) both loved their anagrammed Christmas cards. I'm confident that "Oil Santa, Punk" (Paul Atkinson) and "Win Karma" (Mark Wain) will also respond positively tomorrow!

I've been trying like the dickens to fathom (in my head) an anagram from 'Mark Wain' involving a male sheep, but all I can get it 'W**k Mair', and 'mare' isn't even spelled correctly. Am I missing something?

Oh, wait a minute. I just figured the role of 'I' in that one. Ha ha. Good one.

Most of my friends have, probably rightly, regarded me as barking bonkers for a long time, so the anagrams didn't come as too great a shock. I did have a minor crisis when someone I hadn't been expecting to see at Christmas suddenly turned up in Bradford when I was temporarily deprived of computer access. For the sake of consistency, I had to work out an anagram for Yves Dumont using nothing more sophisticated than a pencil and paper. But I managed it, and he was really impressed with "Stun My Dove"!

Well done. I thought I'd try my own head at that one and I came up with 'Undo my vest'. Probably not as generally acceptable as 'Stun my dove'.
