So, today I gave into temptation, if that's what it was.

I sent Miss V a txt, told her I love her & can't live without her & how it was all a dreadful mistake ever splitting up with her.

Not surprisingly, she said she's moved on & is happy now & could never go back.

(I should point out that I did stop seeing the Latest One some time before doing this. I'm not a complete cad. Some of my teeth are missing...)

Something tells me I'm not going to leave it there, despite my better judgement...

And yea, it did come to pass that we are on good terms again.
Bless her, Miss V is truly an angel & I am a prize buffoon for letting her go. She doesn't hate me! Woohoo! She's happy for us to be friends. That is more than I could've hoped for, and as Me Mam always says, "Ya never know, son..."

Miss V still persists in pointing out that I'm a lovely guy & will undoubtedly find someone lovely, but they've gotta be pretty damned special to compete with Miss V. She's one in a million, folks, and Liftliker's a sorrier so'n'so for blowing it.

Dude, you are a lovely guy and you *will* undoubtedly find someone lovely. I can't understand how so many can leave those corners behind.

It was a great conversation for getting things out in the open, setting the record straight & so forth. One question I knew she was going to ask (and she did) was did I sleep with the Harpy (y'know, the 22 yr old hottie I was seeing before her). And the answer's no, not a chance, wouldn't touch her with yours & all that.
Told my dad about this a moment ago & also pointed out that ah-hah! so there *were* rumours to that effect!
He just smiled & shook his head. "You do lead a complicated life..." he chuckled. (This from a man who toured the Far East in the Army & Merchant Navy!) I replied that I need to remember to enjoy it more.

I never set out to be a lothario. For one thing, I'm too lazy. But as that guy says in The Cannonball Run, "If you're gonna be a bear, be a GRIZZLY!"

Miss V & I continue to converse by SMS and it's good, it really is.

Can't shake the feeling though. Can't, or don't want to, get over her.
I just know, a week tomorrow, when I see her at w*rk that line from "Double Team" by Tenacious D will be going through my head...

It's just that the Latest One (the latest Ex now, of course) didn't cure of my hankering for Miss V. If anything, she just sharpened it.
I don't want Miss V to be another Jo. Certainly couldn't put her through that sort of lingering hell. Then again, Roy, you know me & temptation...

Luckily (hopefully?) Miss V is stronger than me in that respect.

I don't think temptation's your problem, I reckon it's insecurity, but I ain't no psychoanalyst.

You do seem to be getting through 'em at an alarming rate though mate.

Four in a year, not counting an evening's misbehaviour on the rebound...
