The whisky I alluded to on the other thread is a fantastic (aquired taste) whisky from the Isle of Islay off the coast of Scotland.

The aroma is,,,,,,well best described as peaty, smoky and salty.

The taste is slightly salty(errr very slightly, as though you had one grain of salt on your tongue) and a mixture of peat and smoke.

The very first time you smell it, the immediate impression is, "Disinfectant!!!"

That is how this spirit entered the USA during prohibition; in kegs labelled 'Disinfectant'..............
