Ah, you drew the short straw...
I see from your page that you'll be a first year... welcome to Caius!... you'll have a great time
Which particular bits of natsci? As a compsci I've taken first year natsci maths and physics (although from now on it's all separate)... the physics is definitely harder than computer science
Do you know where you'll be staying yet?
I might come say hi, I'll be the one juggling knives (unless George borrows 'em again )...

Staying in Harvey Court (who doesn't?), and doing mostly Biology-ish stuff, but may take a proper module of Maths, just to show that I'm tough (and insane).
Short straw?

26199 Posted Oct 3, 2002
Yeah - natsci in general, I mean
Hmm, some people don't stay in Harvey Court... there's Green Street and Rose Crescent, too, both of which are right next to the Old Courts...
Hmm, are you taking a PC? If you get a room with a network connection, the 24/7 internet access is lovely

I know some people don't live in HC, both of my college 'parents' for one. Weird huh?
I don't have a network connection, and am very very annoyed about that (I need free internet access!). Taking a PC but don't know what I'm going to do with it except write stuff.

sorry to hear that... one of the things that's pretty lousy is how they decide who gets a network connection and who doesn't. In the first year, it seems to be random... I specifically wrote and asked about it when I got my offer, so perhaps that's why I ended up with one... or it could've just been chance.
Hmm, I'll be back in Cambridge tomorrow, scary thought
See you around, I guess

Not too bad.
Piles of paper to bring back and try to work out what they;re supposed to be saying, more than in a year at my sixth form.
Caius
26199 Posted Dec 31, 2002
Yus, lots of fun...
The whole sixth form thing was a real skive in comparison, no doubt about it...
So -- did you manage to join any interesting societies/sports teams?
Caius
Catwoman Posted Dec 31, 2002
Sports? Hah! You think I want early mornings and blisters? (guess which team many of my friends joined?)
Caius

Hehe... yeah, beats me why they do it. Well. Desire to win and college pride and all that I suppose. Dedication
I did plenty of fire juggling ... including once outside Cindy's and once at the Rag firewalk... lots of fun ...
Caius
Catwoman Posted Jan 2, 2003
Did the people at Cindy's think you were trying to burn it down? (well, it's not that unlikely)
Caius
26199 Posted Jan 2, 2003
Grin... nope... one person did have a go though... caught the wrong end... said 'ouch'...
Hmm, we're probably not supposed to let on that you can catch the burning end without any ill effects ... similar idea to fire walking, really... just 'cause it's hot doesn't mean it's dangerous...

It's supposed to look as if you'd be in for a trip to Addenbrookes if you did it wrong, that's what gives the suspense.

Hmm, y'know I never realised that 26199's name is on his U-page. tempting to sneak a look in the Stalker's Guide, but it's out of date by now anyway. And that just wouldn't be sporting.

Hmmmm. I wonder. Which year is he in now? 3rd? And which George does he mean? Hmmm.
