Things I have tried to bring labour on:

A long uphill walk (well long for me!)
Raspberry leaf capsules (6 a day for 1 week)
Clary Sage Oil (bathe in it every day even though it stinks)
Sweeping the floor (I will never be Mrs Beaton)
Curry (twice in one week)

And nothing works. Boo!

Well we thought it had all started lasst night as I started getting mild contractions at 10pm but they never got any quicker or harder so it was just false labour after all. I do think it is going to happen soon though. Walking is uncomfortable and my back is killing me! Even the doctor reckons I won't make my due date. Also been on tour of delivery suite at hospital and it was interesting. What is crap is that they had a birth pool installed but it never drained properly. Somehow the contract was so rubbish they can't get the contractor back in to fix it - what a waste of tax payers money!

Yay - the head is starting to engage - by 1/4 at the moment. It is so brilliant as this means the baby is on its way. Of course it will still take as long as it is going to take but at least it is heading in the right direction.

The nursery is all decorated. It is a very sunny yellow colour and all of the furniture is natural wood. Tomorrow I hope to move in all the bedding and baby clothes and then we will be pretty much done. I am getting very excited now and so is the baby judging from the dancing it is doing 24/7. Had a scan last week and everything is fine. It is a boy and will be called Harrison Peter Roberts and he should weigh in at the 7lb mark although he might be bigger.

Sunday 11th July

Things are still going well. I am now on iron tablets and my belly is growing at an alarming rate. I went on a fancy dress pub crawl for charity on Thursday and I was the Mother Superior of the Order of the Fallen Nuns. It was a sight to be seen!

I cannot believe how much the baby kicks. It had better not be a footballer!
