Exciting

DD and I had two appointments to look at places to hold the wedding yesterday. The first one was tacky and awful and the only reason anyone would ever pick it is because of the views over the avon gorge. The second though was perfect and it is all booked - date 9/9/00 - Neither of us can ever forget such an easy date either!

Quiz

I went to a quiz last night and saw some friends I haven't seen in ages. The most asked question was "How did I meet Doug?" and you should have seen their faces when I said "On the internet". No one actually said they thought I was stupid but it was very obvious what they thought.

The best question was from Wayne who wanted to know if we had had cyber-sex yet!

Plagarism

Twice in the last two weeks I have heard phone-ins on the breakfast show on Virgin radio that are direct copies of current discussions on here. Today's was do animals fron different countries have different accents etc - a copy of JTG's discussion. So who is the sneak and should we all be getting royalties?

Internet Romances -Love at First *Site*

Okay, so we all know which way I am going to argue this. smiley - smiley It's just since the announcement I have been completely overwhelmed by the lack of cynacism people have shown. Either we are at heart a nation of romantics or we are all very good actors because not one person has asked me if I am pregnant or has cast aspersions on how long they think the marriage will last!

My view is this: I think relationships that begin on the internet have as much chance as any other as long as you don't just go looking for it (Every time I tell anyone I met Doug on the internet I always quickly say but not on a chat room or dating page!)

I can quite honestly say that I knew more about Doug before I met him than I knew about any of my ex's by the time we had finished! Certainly I knew more about him than my friends did about any of the men they had picked up in clubs and pubs.

The secret to the success of the internet relationship is to treat the internet part as a beginning, a preamble and then let the relationship move on. We may have met on h2g2 but, believe me, h2g2 has nothing to do with why we are still together.

What does anyone else think? Do internet relationships work? I promise I won't take any of this personally!
