Well, actually I told mum that he was sitting next to me, and she wanted to speak to him. *laughs* I thought it was funny, and I guess he knew it was coming, especially when I started to hand him the phone. HEHEHE

Ginger nearly had that last night! I was talking to my mum on the phone arranging to go and see her next weekend, and Ginger called on the other line - I had both phones up to my head, and I could easily have put them together... but I couldn't be THAT cruel! I may be dastardly, but I'm not totally evil!

I did actually give DD the choice of not attending the family bash this weekend - do you think meeting 24 members of my family in one outing is too much? Mind you, I think I am more nervous than he is and I know from my sisters' bitter experience that my Mum too will think he is perfect and far too good for me! I get my own back though because I get on really well with his first set of parents. Really really well! And he hates it!

I don't hate it, I love it! It's great you get on so well with them, and buying them those "head gardener" and "under gardener" t-shirts was a stroke of genius! They just think even more of you now! You do realise when you come to visit again you're in for a big "thank-you" don't you.

I hate that thing parents do when they say one person isn't good enough for another! It's what my mum started doing with my brother and his girlfriend when they were having a tough time. I had to point out that they were the ones in the relationship, and only they knew how they felt about each other and it's up to them.

I'm sure everything will be ok.

So - anyone got any tips on meeting 24 members of your other halfs family in one go!?

Well definitely shed the Dastardly thing for one.
Don't take fruitcake. It only leads to disaster.

I don't know why I even took fruitcake. Every hates that stuff. I took it anyway...it was Christmas... It's just so normal... "here, have a fruitcake".

Sorry, I'm trying to stop that! I did think about taking the offspring CD for Doug's mum as she apparently hates all music made after about 1950. Odd really because my mum is old than her but listens to heavy metal and any CD's my little sister and I buy!

I'll be keeping my dastardly nature secret! I almost never introduce myself as Dastardly, Doug Dastardly!

As for the fruitcake... well, I hadn't planned on taking any, but thanks for the tip anyway!

Yep, that would have gone down really well, but I think my mum would be too polite to say anything until you'd gone! I'd get it in the neck afterwards though! No! Don't even think about it!

Ok 24 memebers, lets see. I met Andrew's Parents, Brother-in-law, one of his sisters, their 4 kids, and his brother, on the first trip to his parents. It was a mad house, and that is only 9, so I guess 24 is going to be 'fun'.
