I really don't know what to say at times like this...
I was goign to write a journal yesterday(WEdnesday) that was light hearted but I went to the cinema and put it off for today(thursday) but that isnt' going to happen now.
I just don't feel like being an adult so I will just leave(for bed)...

Goodnight, Kham.
Just tell your family and Anthea that you love them, that's all.

yeah, people don't tell each other that they love them often enough... oh and if there's something you really want to do do it as this ain't a dress rehearsal... or if it is I wish someone had told me earlier

I'm alternating between proud and pissed off. Pissed off at the terrorists and proud of my countrymen. Just seen a woman outside a triage centre on the news with scorch marks on her face and shrapnel in her leg turn round to a camera and say "This? This is nothing! What about those people in there?"
Take more than a few bombs to destroy the spirit of the British nation.

it isnt because I ahve been scared or distressed by the attacks, it is the whole thing that I never really felt a closeness to the nations capital and don't want to offend anyone by being insensitive.
I just don't want to act like an adult and be sensible.
*sighs* I won't meantion why I have never really connected with the capital... so once again I'll leave this journal entry

Pysc's - never thought I'd say this - right.We're not beaten so goddamn easily.It was bad,but it could have been worse.Last I heard,there was 50 people dead.And while that's 50 too much,50 who wouldn't have died that day,9/11 had hundreds,thousands dead.It's awful,but we got off lightly.
And you're right, never really identified with London.Don't know anyone down ther, just Senga's pal Val - who's fine - and my uncle was going to move there, but he hasn't yet.And then slowly I started to hear about it,and it felt like 9/11 all over again, listening to the death-toll and wounded rise...but closer.I started to panic a little bit.And for the first time since this whole fiasco started, and I became aware of the world's politics and leaders,I was glad Blair was there,y'know? For the first time,I felt we could trust him, probably because I suspected was as shaken up as the rest of us.For the first time,I was glad Bush has made it his mission to track down all the terrorists and make them pay.
How stupid is that, huh? But I still kinda feel that way.

Grr. I'd written a long and rather eloquent (if I say so myself) reply for this thread. And then I pressed back and lost it
The gist of it was, we were lucky. London's Major Incident plan is one of the best in the world, and they've been practising for four years. Far fewer people died than could have done, and that's the sort of thing we should cling on to, as we stand up and refuse to be shaken.
I agree on the Blair thing. I hadn't realised it until you said it, but I do now

in a way for the first time i'm glad britten have the stif upper lip.
i know its not quit like this but this is how somone i know put it "a bomb goes off, shrapnel flies in the air and lands in a tea cup, 'oh dear i have shrapnel in my tea' flickes it out with the tea spoon and keeps going" its a bit of an exageration, but people have just carried on with their lives, picking up the peices and getting things back to working order.
for once in my7 life i'm prowd of my country
