I've actually stopped driving. Hubby likes it and I don't anymnore. Too many homocidal maniacs, people eating, drinking AND on the phone and other assorted nightmares. I am getting a horse or a sequey.

Well, it's not that I _love_ driving or something - I'm alright with it, that's all. And it's quite helpful independence-wise.
Or at least would be in October, when I no longer need to be accompanied by a licenced driver over 25.
Which, as I have discovered yesterday, should NOT be my mum... aaah! She is so stressing!!!

Traveller in Time figuring rules
"That sounds like a wise rule In most countries the young drivers couse the worse accidents driving on their own. Does it work that way ? "

I don'T drive without anyone along willingly, I just don't feel safe yet, specially as the family car is a bit difficult.

Oh, it's definitely a pretty good idea... but there are still a lot of accidents. *shrug*

Well, I really don't know.
I think the problem is that theoretically, you can just wait until those couple months are done and then drive on your own - which then means you're out of practice.
But that's just an assumption. I have no idea about the actual statistics.

OK, it could be a problem if you have noone willing to drive with you. And I assume many people who don't feel safe would take someone anyway, and many others will just ignore the rule...

That's the problem, isn't it? The people who obey safety laws are the ones who'd be sensible anyway!
