So, good Lady. How do you like the h2g2 of today?
You mentioned having been and gone. And I've seen swings and changes in the 19 or 20 months I've been here. So I figure 'changes' would be more visible to someone who's been away awhile.

Yes, there are some great differences from when I had my first accont. But I like this set up better because I find it has gotten more organised over the past few years. I found that, 5 years ago, when I had my first accont, the place was run slitly different then it is now. But I like the new h2g2.

Was it under the BBC 5 years ago? Or still h2g2.com? Well before my time anyway. I only got to reading DNA's last book in early '04, and it made so many mentions of the site. Curious duck that I am, ...
And here I am still.

Ah. From some bits I have read, here and there, DNA was quite pleased when the BBC took it in, ... With the new money and resources then available, a lot of their ideas for growth were far more likely.
Of course, in the time frame you are speaking, I was likely just a young lad ...

If you were a young lad then, I don;t want to know what I was. considering the fact that I was only 14 at the time.

In far too many ways, I'm still just a lad. With no intention of growing up fully.
But in fact, more than a month ago, I turned 29. For the 18th time.

My goal right now is to do Astrophysics, But I am not doing so well is the science classes at the moment. So I am switch to an Arts Degree with a minore in Chem, if my exams don't go over very well. My passing those classes is all hanging on these exams.

Indeed, you chose a very technically demanding subject. I do hope you prove yourself up to the challenge. I have wished so many times that ANY form of college or university might have been a possibility. But in my time, student loans were nearly non-existent. And as one of 6 kids in a family, there was no way my folks could pay that kind of education. For them, it was be prepared to pay all 6, or none. They would never choose one or two above the rest. And living in the farm districts of southern Ontario, jobs didn't offer enough to save up for such an education.

It was pretty much common for my generation ... Stuff happens. I'm just pleased to see that some of my tax money is helping a lot of this generation to get that chance.

Well the first goal is to do as well as you can, without burning yourself out. Then worry about the financial concerns later.
Have you managed your Christmas shopping yet?

What About you and your Christmas shopping?
Calling "down home" ...
Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear } Posted Dec 7, 2005
We had all of our shopping for kids, grand-kids and parents done by early November. Shipped to various parts of Canada a week-ago. I even managed to shop for my missus, and have only to wrap stuff. I've NEVER been done this early.
