I've been away from your temporary home for quite some time. Nearly 11 years. Are there are major winter festivals or stuff around Halifax/Dartmouth?

I dont think so, but this is my first year here so...

I imagine if there was anything major, it'd be advertised all over and on the radio. And senior crowds would be knowing. I was just curious.

This town normally has a Winter Carnival, blended together by the Air Force base and the city. There's been no mention this year, and it's normally around mid-February.

Hmmm, wierd, maybe its because its not wintery enough for it.

The town that I attended high school, Walkerton (of the poisionous water) used to have a "Chicken-Fest". They were home to Canada Packer's largest poulty plant, so it seemed to make sense. But imagine an entire town down over in -like stuff? It really was comical.

Every town and city WILL find a claim to fame, eh? My village had one monstrous Oktoberfest every year. Being of nearly 100% German lineage and home to the only non-unionized brewery in Ontario. Whooo-hooo, what a week each year that was.
