Just one teeny quibble 
- the change of 'quintessentially' to 'quintessential' in that last sentence. I did mean this to qualify 'English' rather than to stand on its own and I'm not sure about it as a separate adjective. Might I suggest:

(Actually, on reflection, I prefer that anyway - seems rather clearer now. Sorry to be a nuisance 
)
