EPISODE 3 – The Witch
Posted Dec 26, 2003
Buffy, Xander and Willow become a team in this episode:
Willow: You’re the Slayer and we are the Slayerettes!
We see a few scenes with Buffy and her Mum – Buffy is at first upset that her mum doesn’t take that much of an interest in her life, but later grateful that her mum doesn’t want to be a sixteen year old or live her life over through Buffy.
Imagine the explaining Buffy would have to do if her mum was overly-interested in her life!
Willow starts to talk about her feelings for Cordy:
Giles: Why would anyone want to hurt Cordelia?
Willow: ‘Cause they met her? Did I say that?
Near-death #3 for Cordy, as she is blinded and almost hit by a bus!

EPISODE 2 – The Harvest
Posted Dec 26, 2003
In this episode Willow stands up to Cordy for what seems the first time ever – “Buffy’s not a psycho!” She also helps Giles by throwing Holy Water in Darla’s face. Go Willow!
Cordy comes across a little ditzy in computer class, whereas she appears quite smart later in the Season and again in Season 3. Near-death #2 for Cordy – against Luke at the Bronze!
Xander completes his first of many stakings (accidental staking of Jesse).
Oh, and of course, Buffy saves the day
QUESTION: Is there a standard time before a vamp rises again? It seems to vary on every occasion. As an example, some vamps are buried and later rise. Jesse wasn’t dead long enough to even be buried!

EPISODE 1 - Welcome to the Hellmouth
Posted Dec 26, 2003
Buffy is relaxed and easy-going right from the beginning. A very different Buffy from the one we see in the later seasons (especially Season 7). Buffy’s philosophy: “Life is short. Seize the moment – tomorrow you might be dead”
Giles is “Mr Stuffy-Shirt” – The serious and bookwormy Giles that we come to love so much!
Angel is particularly hot in this Episode – and in all of Season 1 in fact! He is very sarcastic in WttH and The Harvest, and a gotta say that he is a really bad actor in these early days! Buffy’s observation: “Dark and broody. I REALLY didn’t like him!”
Willow is very geeky. About her outfit: “My mum picked it out!” Would any 15 year-old girl admit to that?
Xander is his loveable and goofy self. I wonder how different the plot would have been if Jesse had stayed around – my thought is that Xander and Jesse would have been all about “Girls, Girls, Girls”!
I love Buffy’s skill in recognising vamps:
Buffy: Look at his outfit – he’s got the sleeves rolled up – and the shirt! Deal with that outfit for a moment!
Giles: It’s dated?
Buffy: It’s carbon-dated! Trust me, only someone living underground for 10 years would think that was still the look!
Cordy is happy to accept Buffy into her group UNTIL she starts hanging out with Willow and Xander and almost stakes Cordy at the Bronze. Cordy’s first (of many) near-death experiences
Darla is very different from the character that she later portrays in “Angel”.

Trivia Item 4

3 Buffy cast members appeared in the movie "Bring it On" - 2 of them are actresses who play Faith and Glory. The other one (I think) appeared in one Buffy episode. Any ideas who?
