the river

The name Tyburn come from the river that flowed through the area, from south hampstead to the thames. Tyburn is now one of londons lost rivers, and is completely underground, but many years ago it crossed regents park, followed marylebone lane, down to piccadilly near green park, and into the main river near vauxhall bridge. bourne ; written down burn' at some point means brook. the river branched a number of times and TY meaning two, hence two brooks reflects this.

Though life in vain the wretch implores,
An exile on the farthest shores,
Thy pencil brings a kind reprieve,
And bids the dying robber live.

In those days crowds went wild. over 200,000 lined the road to the gibbet in tyburn.

I ONCE MET THIS GIRL IN A DISCO, SHE KEPT ROLLING HER EYES AT ME, I PICKED THEM UP, AND ROLLED THEM BACK, SHE HAD LONG BLACK HAIR, RIGHT DOWN HER BACK, NONE ON HER HEAD, JUST DOWN HER BACK, AND SHE LOVED DANGLING HER FEET IN THE THAMES, WHILE SITTING ON TOWER BRIDGE, jy.
