Yeah. Or it could be something to do with the fact that I type at speed but dont touch type and only use 5 fingers plus thumbs.

4 on the left and index on the right. I try using the others but they aren't as moble because I play guitar. Its really leading to some cramp these days but not as bad as when i use the other fingers.
My friend plays bass and he only uses 3 on his left hand and two on his right.

You can stop drumming now, I heard it yesterday. I wasn't on h2g2 though..... Anyway, I liked it.
And I don't play any instruments at all, so I touch-type with both hands.
