Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted May 7, 2006
When did that happen?
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 8, 2006
Ummmm..... maybe two years ago?
Little old lady in Safeway parking lot... Backed right through the glass wall of the Liquor store. She said her cane got stuck.... but I think that she confused the break and gas pedal and floored it....
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted May 8, 2006
I think I did that today. It really upset me because I went to far and couldnt work out what went wrong. I was certain I pressed the brake. Maybe it was something to do with the clutch or something.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 11, 2006
Ahhhh.... I hate that. I was parked at the bank the other day and i forgot to put it into reverse and it was just in neutral...boy did the engine rev loudly.... I was so embarassed And.... I offered to drive a friend and her brother home (breaking the N rules) and I forgot to take the emergency break off... I just get so nervous when driving people that I cant seem to do anything right. I feel like they're watching me waiting for me to make a mistake or something
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted May 11, 2006
I did that. By the way, are the emergency brake and the handbrake the same thing? Because to us emergency braking is taken literally. I.E where you stamp on the brake to stop in an emergency.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 22, 2006
Yes, I think the hand break and the emergency break are the same thing.... Although I would really like to know why ours is called an emergency break. You dont really use it in emergencies.....
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted May 30, 2006
My mum does but only when I'm driving. It could explain why is doesn't secure the car nearly enough.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 30, 2006
Your mom doesn't really use it when you're driving does she?
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted May 31, 2006
She has once or twice and my Dad has once but at least when he did it it was justified.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted May 31, 2006
I've only had that happen to me once, it was with my driving instructor. I think it may have been the end of my first lesson. I misjudged the speed of a truck while turning left and I almost got hit. Oh well..... but between you and me I'm sure he was doing more than 40....
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted Jun 1, 2006
Terrible. The worst thing is getting overtaken when youre doing 56 in a de-restricted zone. That was quite annoying.
I always expect trucks to not stop when they're pulling out, I don't know why.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted Jun 1, 2006
Everyone here has the unfortunate habit of not stopping at stops signs or stop lines, but somewhere after them... and then I think that they're not stopping and it really freaks me out.
Yesterday I was driving behind someone and they stayed in the lane to go straight and I went into the lane for left turns... then all of a sudden, at the last minute, the car infront of me came into the left turn lane and turned left. Stupid jerk, cut me off. They hardly even signalled. I was very careful about watching them after that.
Driving is dangerous.
When you say trucks... do you mean like pickup trucks or big big trucks?
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted Jun 2, 2006
Erm... Lorries, Wagons, TGVs, whatever you'd like to call them.
Had my last lesson with that instructor today. I get a new one some time soon. I also have to book my theory test.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Arisztid Lugosi Posted Jun 3, 2006
You havent had a theory test yet? Thats how we start out. You take the theory test and if you get a certain number right you pass and get your Learners. Then after you've had that for a while you get to go back and take a driving test (scary), and if you pass that you get your Novice which you get to keep for annother coupple of years (longet this time) and then you get to go back and take annother real driving test and if you pass that you finally get your real DL.
Why do you switch instructors?
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted Jun 3, 2006
My old one is going on to Automatic.
We start driving with an instructor first and then go and take our theory. When youve passed that you do your actual test and get your license.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted Jun 4, 2006
I like it this way. You get higher marks because you have more experience on the roads.
And I'm back..... I hope...
Lord Job Boron. That's Lord Job Boron To You! Posted Jun 5, 2006
I don't intend to!
