Becuase that is increasingly what I feel. It seems TPTB (and I not necessarily pointing the fingure at our italics) just are not interested in having lively debate on hootoo.
I must confess to not giving a rats arse about the edited guide. We lost that fight long before I ever joined h2g2, wiki comprehensivly demolishes the EG in every respect.
No, what I like/d about h2g2 was the people here and the lively and interesting debate. This seems to be increasingly cracked down on, lots of people I like and enjoy reading their comments have left (Blues Shark, SoRB/Hoo etc etc) and it just seems to be dying..... at least the parts of the site I enjoy.
I still visit everyday, but this is now more out of habit than anything else. I am not remotly interested in writing for the EG, because I see it as a waste of time, if I was going to do that then I would write on wiki now.
Feeling pretty 
about this place.

I just cannot muster much enthusiasm anymore.
I owuld liken it to your local after most of your mates who drank there stopped coming. It all *looks* them same but it just isnt.

I know what you mean. With me, it was the fact that Wolfden was being so irritating that I just couldn't be bothered any more. I'm back for a bit now though, and with the main intention of doing a bit more for the EG...
(been to Argyle recently? I'm very excited about the Holloway era. commentated at Home Park for a bit (for practice) when I came down with Yeovil for the pre-season friendly so that's an ambition fulfilled - and stood in the box behind Sparksy for the first game of the season)

Well it has certainly become a helluva lot more interesting lately. I am back to checking for new posts every 15 minutes.

Sorry, what controversy? Wow, don't speak up too loud the PTB might find out.
I do keep considering whether to see how quickly I can get a months ban from the site maybe we should have an Xmas competition...first one to get banned wins.
