Have you completed your mission yet or are you still roaming? I ask because that's *my* next Great Adventure, which I'll be embarking on next weekend. Wooooohooo! Have cosmicpolitans, will travel.
Anyway, I shall be camping my way up the east coast til I hit Myrtle Beach, then shooting over to the mountains of North Carolina for a couple of days, then to Tennessee (which I fell in love with last week as I was cruising home from Kansas) and then back down south via Georgia and Florida's west coast. I'm guesstimating a two-week journey. Sooooo... if you happen to be in one of those vicinities I have a not-to-indecent proposal for you. How's about we make a micro-meetup and go skydiving? That's one of those things I have wanted to do for the past 20 years, and circumstances have always contrived to prevent me. I'm mostly harmless, and I absolutely promise I will not torture you with my accordion.

Shazow! You play accordian, huh? My father plays. Well, played. I've acually been thinking about learning, since I don't have too much else going on. Three blind mice is not a good song for me, though. Scan my entry on sub combat and it might make sense... And Belly dancing! My mom does that in Seattle! I'm not just saying all this. We have a lot of things in common. ...except location. At present I am stuck in Portland, Oregon. I'll eventually get to Seattle, and then do some more traveling, probably getting back East eventually. Myrtle Beach is nice. Fond memories from my Navy days. Florida was fun too. Got toasted in Cocoa Beach. And sunburned... Anyway, If I ever get around there (&^$# car!) I'll look you up, and we can go take a plunge. But don't wait for me, seriously. You gotta just go. It's good to have someone to do it with, but you'll get strapped to an instructor, so there's no chickening out. Anyhoo, Haven't slept in days, so need to hit 7-11. Huh, sounds stupid when I write it. Oh well.

Some friends of mine are in Portland right now, just bought themselves a townhouse that'll soon be built. I'm planning another, Greater Adventure next summer, will loop my way through the southern coastal states then up the edge of CA and land in Portland to visit with them for a while before heading back home across the country. I'll catch ya then.
Cars can be a pain in the butt when they don't go. I spent the last 3 years without one after mine was stolen, have enjoyed riding my bike all over town. Fortunately I'm centrally located to pretty much everything I need down here, so it's not been an inconvenience. But now I have the ultimate MoGgie mobile, a Nissan truck with topper, and it's time to broaden my horizons and take enough photos to finish the book I've been working on. You can only take so many thousands of pics of beaches, sunrises and sunsets and tropical flora before it's time to capture something new, like a tree with actual leaves that change color with the seasons. The Idea!
Three Blind Mice is probably not a good song for anyone, but that's never been a reason to *not* do it, according to the rules of *my* universe. That was inspired by a lubricated moment in a local diver's bar, when I got my hands on their squeaky toy rat that lives on the cannon and realized that you can make sounds and call 'em music with all sorts of found objects, if you've an iota of imagination and truly don't give a damn what 'normal' people think of you.
Sleep well, and build a noble Dream. I'm off to break glass. Hi ho.

Sounds great. Chances are, I'll still be here when you come through. I don't know of any local dropzones, but I'm sure there are some. Small airports are always good.
Need sleep. Today, at Powell's books (one of the best bookstores on the planet) Terry Pratchett is going to be signing a new book of his. There I'll be.

Have you slept yet? And how was the Pratchett signing? Did he speak? I picked up a copy of 'Strata' last night at my favorite used books store, haven't started on it yet. Was looking for some Paulo Coelho and only found The Alchemist, which I already have and love. As always, I managed to come out with an armload of books that'll keep me occupied during my adventure.

I just read your article on sub combat. Brilliant! It made me think that if there were a cave around here that wasn't actually filled with water I'd serve some of my more gullible friends several cosmicpolitans and then propose a paintball war. Shotguns are a wee bit too invasive for my taste.
*mumble* *mumble* Yeah, I know, one of these days I'm gonna have to grow up and act my age and stop generating these loopy Things To Do On a Slow Afternoon. Maybe next week.

Have I slept yet? Well, you do the math and I'm awake at 5:54 AM as I have been all yesterday. Sleep when you're dead.
You seen the movie Lost in Translation? If not, go see it. If you have, see it again. It was good. That is me. With the notable exception of a Scarlett Johansson character. I am alone in an environment that I cannot really grasp, tolerate, or enjoy. Or sleep in. Don't know why, usually sleep like a rock. Swerve.
Anyway, met T.Pratchett. He didn't speak, just signed. Well, he spoke, but just to ask what to write. He said I had a cool shirt. I had a copy of 'Good Omens' for him to sign, written by him and Neil Gaiman. He wrote "Burn this Book" in it, which is the same thing Gaiman wrote when he signed it. Odd.
Anyway, good on you for reading the sub combat thingy, but as someone reviewed, anything less than shotguns and it ain't for you. It's not a beauty contest. You hear the other guy first, you come home alive, you've done your job. Go put a rave review in there for me. Help me out. Whatever. Talk to you later. Well, read, anyway. MTFBWU

I haven't seen that movie, almost never see any. Sometimes I *mean* to, but then I get so involved in other things that, when I think of it again, about 3 months later, it's no longer showing. So I have this incredibly looong list of movies to rent if I ever get sick or just want to blow a day in front of the tv. That happens about 2-3 times annually. However, I shall add that one as well.
If you were a minor godling what would you adjust in your environment to make it more suitable for you?
The shotgun version of sub combat definitely isn't for me. I have a vested intrest in keeping my bits intact, for some reason. I don't engage in beauty contests, but, as an occasional cosmetina, I'd definitely prefer not to have to do corrective makeup on myself, putty on a fake nose or plug a hole somewhere. After all, there *are* times when a broken nail could constitute a worker's comp claim.
