Right, I've browsed the FAQ, and can't find anything about starting a discussion group - in this case the aim is to do so for Fencing.
Tips/ help please?

Discussion group?
Do you want to start a club for fencing, or want to find people to help with the article?

Then create an article for your club (I can help with codes if you need), and then submit it to A630019. The alternative would be to go to the article on fencing (A293258) and discus it there.

As in submit it for advertisement. It's a list of clubs and societies you see , gets published in <./>thepost</.>

Done, will just have to see if I get any members... don't suppose you fancy being an ACE for the group do you?
What else do I need to do?

Oh, there is no rush. I'm sure I take up too much of your time as it is....

Trouble is I don't know anything about fencing...
I can help with the Guide-ML if you like however..

Where about's should I post it? In the introductory spiel? And what doe sbeing a member actually mean - is it just an expressed interest?
Discussion Groups
Laura Posted Jul 1, 2003
Doesn't matter where...up to you. Same applies for what membership means. Normally means that the people are interested in the subject and will post in the group..
I've started 3 groups, all very different. A1041625 is the most successful of them. Try browsing through over groups and see what they're like.

I've had somehelp from The Professor with one of my articles, how do I credit him, without it appearing as though he 'wrote and researched' whilst I merely 'edited'?
Editors/ Researchers
Laura Posted Jul 3, 2003
If you add him to the written and researched list, you will appear as the editor, but only while the entry is being written or in peer review. If (it is likely, but can take a while, sometimes months ) the entry is Scouted for the Edited Guide, it will then be edited by one of the Editors, so instead their name will appear on the 'edited by' bit, and both of yours on 'written and researched'.
That was a very long winded way of saying it , but I'm tired

Bless - sleep well.
Now I just need someone to reccommend my article for the edited guide then......
