Grades

Grades
Yesterday
Dunno if I told you this, but a couple of weeks ago, I filed a complaint on my exam grades, I had received a 4.
Well, today it came back, I got a 6!!!!
I'm so happy I could jump through the roof.
On the other hand, if the people who mark the exams are capable of interpreting an essay that differently, I'm getting some doubts as to the fairness of the examination system...

Nothing...

Nothing much's happened this week...
Or, that's not exactly true. Five of the people in my class will not be with us at the start of our term. Because of a stupidly organized school system. They lost their places to people with better grades from other schools, and are forced to take the previous year again somewhere else, attending another course. Heidi, Kristine, Morten, Julie, Jon Gustav, we'll miss you enormously, you made a great contribution to our class, and I am guessing that I will see some of you this autumn anyway, this is not yet the end...
Apart from that, and the fact that we had a very nice gathering out here in the middle of nowhere a couple of days ago, nothing's happened.

Fashion, and other sorry excuses to buy expensive clothing...

Just came back from shopping in Oslo with three friends.
It's been a nice, hot, and absolutely shockingly expensive day.
Personally, I've never cared much for fashion, It's just to darned expensive for an unemployed 17 year old student, but for once i followed my friends into a shop, and let them look for an outfit for me.
They came up with a rather nice set of pants, and some shirts. I decided to buy it, just to try and see how expensive it was, the result:

Pants: 799,- NOK
Shirt: 699,- NOK

Total: 1498,- NOK

This amounts to 121,83 british pounds.

The shirt's what took me by complete surprise. oh well, the day was nice, and i could for once afford it. So it was worth it, i suppose.
The clothes were nice, but I don't believe they're worth that much.

Anyway... Happy holidays everyone!!!

Summer holiday...

Ahh, last day of school today.
Just gotten my grades... I am so happy.
Think I should fill you in a bit on the norwegian school system before i give you the facts.

We rate our performances with numbers on a scale from 1 to 6, where 6 is the top grade, only receieved at exeptional performances in that subject.
I am now in my first of three years of "Videregående Skole" ( I think that would be something like upper secondary). Some of the subjects I've had this year, I will not have the other two years, so the grades I got in those three subjects this year will remain standing, and will be printed on my final certificate.

OK, here goes:

Norwegian, written: 5
Norwegian, Oral: 6
English (Final Mark): 6
Maths (Final Mark): 6
Gymnastics: 5
French: 5
Choir (This is not a very serious subject, they only tell you if you've passed or not...): Passed
Musical Knowledge and Musical Analysis: 6
Dance (once again a passed/not passed subject): Passed
Drama: 5
Art and kultural history (final mark): 6
Instrumental knowledge: 4

Behaviour ( Here, the grades range from good to not good): Good

Woo Yay! I am about to burst with happiness, my average is 5,4
AND, I don't know the results of my exams yet... But there is a slight possibility that I may be able to increase my average performance a bit with the exam-marks as well...

But now summer's here...
Let's enjoy it with some good music, like CAKE...
I love that band, really, I do! Love their sound...
