don't worry, i expect he panicked.

he definitely was panicking .... how was the oxford meet? I was cheesed off i couldn't come and to top it all the girl who was having the day off had her dentist appointment moved so came into work!

Half a dozen of us were there - but only 2 of drinking age and we both had to leave before pub time. Several cancelled due to travel problems - I braved the replacement buses but there was so much work going on that for anyone with a longer journey than mine it would have been intolerable. The return leg took almost 3 hours (usually it takes less than an hour!).

We eventually wound up in Coffee Republic because G+D's was a bit full. We talked and we ate cookies, and spent some time wandering aimlessly through Oxford city centre.

Anyway, shame that you could have come but only found out when it was too late. Still, there's London in the summer and I may have a better go at organising something in the summer - in south Warwickshire somewhere, perhaps - not all that far away. Myself, I've only got a few months left near Oxford, and then it's off to one of London, Birmingham or Leeds.

Stratford-upon-Avon *is* in the south of Warwickshire! I'll think about something for the summer...
