The timing to go to visit my family couldn't have been worse, as it coincided with the won bid. Now I'm desperately trying to catch up on threads, in the new forum and here, but it's just so much.
I know I've seen an appeal to 'befriend' H2G2 Future U14914070 - but they haven't written any journal entries, so even if I do, I won't get notified of new conversations. I could subscribe to their message centre, but all I'd get to see would be messages others left for them.
So, if somebody witzh account access should read this: don't start new conversations, write journal entries! You can put the links there to the respective A pages you created.

Ah! now that explains my niggling feeling something being wrong with that suggestion. I'm sorry, but I don't have any control over that page in question.
My whole brain feels like mush actually Bel, there are far too many new things happening at once. It's exciting, but overwhelming as well.
Although it does help to have that U-page on your friends list, so that you can navigate to it quickly, in case someone has updated it.
On a better note, I believe there will soon be a better system for updating everyone more regularly. We'll get there!

Lanza, I guess you're in permanent touch with the account holders, just tell them, please.
lil, there is a plethora of threads, and it's (still) hard to navigate.
Plus, I don't like the fact that you can see what exactly everybody is doing at present. I'll have to go and examine the settings (but then I have yet to find out how to correct the gender). When I signed up, I didn't pay attention to that (I can't understand why it is important to anything anyway), and now I am a male Bel.

at lil.
Dmitri, that's very nice of you.
If you had seen all the beautiful young girls in their ball gowns, your editorial would have been different.

Its just so* confusing at the moment, isn't it just I just emptied the 'bin' in my E-mail box, now, they weren't all* from the offsite forums and google groups to do with 'all this', but most were... so probably about 400 Emails... and I think I last emptied the bin about two days ago I've not had a nice little 'zero unread' message next to my inbox thinggy for months now! and, that is not includinging the ... however many threads on here
Today with the heat and the threads, and the forums... I can feel my diodes melting away... so... yes... its confusing

Poor 2legs...
Ahem. If y'all are having a heat wave over there (and the Prof told me you were), I will stop expecting any of you to make sense for a week or so...not that I usually expect this...
Some advice from a native of the subtropics:
Beer does NOT count in the amount of liquid you must drink to stay alive. WATER, people. Lots of it.
And don't run your fans with the windows closed. The engineering types will explain why.

BeerDoes* count!; its mainly water... useually over 95% water! it'll all be over in a day or two, and we'll be back to sleet, hail and mist and fog ... our summers always seem very short...

Beer is much safer. In weather like this, water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Don't take any chances, stick with the beer.
Mosquitoes also seem to have a dislike of blood with Guinness in it.

You impossible people. Alcohol dehydrates.
Please don't get heatstroke. You're all nutty enough as it is...

Mosquitoes have good taste.
Bel, don't worry about losing the plot. I've lost the entire cemetery...
