Me, too, GB. Not excited about the new stuff, not going there till I have to. And judging by this thread, I'm saving myself a lot of hassle that way.

but 9 times out of 10 the page can't be found

and I haven't managed to post to any conversations including this one.

I managed to open a reply to this thread but the message was blocked because of some word that's unacceptable but I can't be bothered to delete them one by one. The message said

"Oh finally I find a page that I can post to. All the others are Error 505 or This page can't be displayed. "

oh I also mentioned that I will stick to Goo... maybe that's what got the profanity filter...

No, the filter catches the smiley tags. On many websites I know, things within these tags won't display after you've posted. It seems to be some html thing. I wonder what they're going to do to have us post our smileys again. Currently only those smileys work which have a forum code, like , , , : - /, : - ) : - D, : - (, 8 - ) - anybody knows a few more?

Yes, I know, but it was a long way there. At first I couldn't find where to change it, then it was double (due to my BBC name still saying Bel, Ace etc), then it didn't display the altered version for ages.

I picked my smiley from the ones in the message box

it's basic suff - and I can't be bothered so I won't.

I tried a few, Sho, and they were blocked, too.

I don't mind beta testing
but I do mind the big fanfare of "it's up" then "oh no it's not" then "ok don't do xxx" and then "ok it's up!!"

if it was supposed to run in parallel with a dedicated team picking up the bugs it would be fine, but I have limited time so I'll stick to goo.

I love Goo anyway.

I just tried to write a guide entry.

I typed in about five paragraphs, in GuideML, forgot to copy them first, and then hit Preview.

Result: An error message, followed by a return to an empty page. Text had vanished.

Don't say I didn't warn you. I told you it would be too frustrating to try just now.

At least it tells you exactly which line and place the error is, that's something. I think it even says which error it is.

I think the whole site is made to make contributions (ie guide entries) easier, which it will do once the bugs are ironed out. However, it makes conversations impossible.
And it irks me that each time you edit, you have to check the 'not for review' again.

I'm sure it will get ironed out.

I found a test message earlier, by our very own Damnyoureyes. Whether it was his suffix he was testing (in brunel, you can only see t5he suffix people have in their tag lines, not their names), or whether it was smileyes, I'll find out in a minute.

Yay, it seems they managed to make the smileys work in barlesque. *

Now I need to find out whether I can post to my friends' journals while in barlesque.

* Did anybody else notice that if you hit return after having posted a smile, it will magically post that smiley again?

Apostrophes seem to cause a problem in the view I'm using.

Yes, there are two separate bugs in the new system (possibly related to each other) in the way it displays apostrophes.
