You can call me TC Posted Jan 10, 2011
It's also a shame that glitches of whatever severity generate so many conversations about the site itself and its workings. If they'd just leave us alone, we could get on and have proper conversations.

You know, I think it is the price we pay for having passed the MOT.

Yes,that makes sense. We have been accepted but we must now do a bit of conforming to the new way of doing "business"...much more of a formal thing.
It is the way we are supposed to keep our active status on the BBC site.

Don't go Bel. I'm a long way off now and this is one way of keeping in contact with people I like in Europe.

There is also something called email and I write letters 'by hand' to my mama and send them in strange things called 'envelopes' (with stamps). 'Chat' is switched off.

The H2G2 Editors Posted Jan 11, 2011
Hi Bel. First of all . Secondly, we're really sorry to hear that the moderation issues you're been having have sapped some of your enthusiasm for writing on hootoo. We just wanted to say that we appreciated - as many others do - your efforts here.
Our profanity filter is BBC-wide, which means it has to be quite expansive to cover most eventualities. This is something we all have to work around, but we do promise to deal quickly with any referrals that come our way for a decision (although the mods will usually make the more cut-and-dried decisions in the first instance).
But please persevere - it would a great loss if you didn't. We really hope the benefits can start outweighing the irritations.

Exactly - 'clegg' - in my boarding school language would be moderated. Are skid marks?

Cheers all.
I have no intention to leave h2g2, but if I find this:
F19585?thread=7896846
I have no hope at all.
I mean, what? I don't remember the exact words in that post, but it was just somebody asking how many active researchers we think there are on h2g2.
I mean, it's not just the filter. It's stupid, petty people hitting the complaint button for spurious reasons and getting away with it, too.

i've been wanting to ask: is it possible to write a review of "meet the fockers" without being modded?

Dear Bel,
I'm going to recant.
I'm so glad you're not leaving us. If you did leave, so many people (including me of course) would miss you so much.
And you've received what amounts to an apology from the Italics.

And, Bel, you might like to know, or you might know already, that Michael Ballack (born 26 September 1976) is a German professional footballer, who is currently playing for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and is the captain of the German national football team.
Until recently, he played for Chelsea, in England's Premier League.

Hi B'El,
I'm still essentially taking a break from hootoo. I log in to get a feel for what's going on. I rarely contribute or comment on anything.

It's because of all you wonderful people here that I won't leave h2g2 (at least not in the foreseeable future).
I wasn't aware that Michael Ballack is still captain of the German national team.
The general (spectators') view is that he should resign.
He is so desperate for publicity that he attacked (probably in a press conference) Lahm and Löw only a few weeks ago. That doesn't go down well with the football fans.
Oh well.
RF, I can type your name, but it would be blocked if I did.

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Jan 12, 2011
Azara came back from New York full of ideas for entries and couldn't write one about the Frick Gallery because the filter wouldn't let her type the word Frick. She complained to the Eds and they got that word removed from the Profanity List.
No one has yet to my knowledge complained about the word muff to the Eds.
Key: Complain about this post
