Well, since it's google, I wouldn't be surprised. The idea is, not to have an OS (like windows) any more. All your data will be stored on a google server. The advantage is, you can access it form every PC with internet connection, and you can't lose it when your PC crashes.
The question is: do you trust google?

"trust" and "google". Now there are two words you don't often hear in the same sentence

Even if Google Chrome *did* hoke around in your hard drive, there's no need to worry. You can shield yourself from Google Chrome with Google Tinfoil Hat.

I think that the term is 'cloud computing'. It is the future and the security is actually better than using Microsoft, when everything that you do is recorded and Mac OSX.
All of my computers now run on 'open source' (UBUNTU), safer, better and infinitely easier, and use Firefox and Thunderbird.
Fatima - my wife and who never went to school - can open her computer and connect to whatever she wants without having to type a single letter.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
