Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Feb 7, 2009
my own kids were all right - well, as much as you can expect from kids at the ages 12, 9 and 6 under these circumstances
we were promised free food and drinks while we waited in the over crowded departure hall - but it turned out there wasn't enough, so we had to make do with tap water...
the group i traveled with counted 11 adults and 14 kids so we could help and support each other
but the next time i traveled to mallorca i was alone - and lo and behold: when i flew back i encountered another strike
i ended up in sweden where i had to wait hours for a bus to take me to denmark
i'm not sure i'll ever fly to mallorca again!

I think I probably have a prejudiced view of Mallorca. I've never been there, and I'm sure certain parts of it are beautiful. But the people I meet who come back from Mallorca ranting and raving about how fantastic it was are usually the people one goes on holiday to escape from.

They're probably the people who go to Ballermann Six (or whatever that part of the beach is called).
I think if you those places, you'll have a wonderful holiday.
Pierce, the first time I went to a meet, BA managed to wreck both plane tyres, which meant we had to wait for six hours. They gave us a voucher which was just enough to pay for a glass of water.

i got that
the first time we went to mallorca our group of 25 souls lived for two weeks in three houses (a finca, a two family house and a bungalow) at the end of a cul-de-sack, secluded from the rest of the village by a giant cast iron gate. only the bungalow did not have a pool. the pool at the finca was gigantic and from there we had the most spectacular view of the valley going down to the port of andratx. we were told we could also look down into claudia schiffers pool, but we never saw her
yeah, you guessed right: it wasn't me who paid for it and i kept telling my kids to enjoy this vacation, since they would probably never experience luxury like that ever again
both the times i went to mallorca i rented mopeds and cars and drove around the entire island and i can assure you it really is as astonishing beautiful as people say if you stay away from palma and alcudia
so maybe some day i will return after all

Sereph, if I had the money and the time, I'd come over once a month at least.
September this year is unlucky in so far as my sister's 50th is in September.
