It'll be my parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary in a few weeks, and they're going to celebrate. My dad called last night to invite us. We'll get a proper written invitation later. He wanted to make sure the chosen date and location is convenient for all. I have a vague recollection of their silver wedding, they don't celebrate very often. This is going to be the first of various 50 years anniversaries in the family this year: my brother in law will celebrate in summer, and my sister will be 50 too this year. MMF (not family, but good friend) is planning a party for his 50th birthday. Son #2 will be - no, not 50, 
, he'll be 18 this year.
(Our car is 15 years old and I have no idea whether it will pass the upcoming MOT test. 
)
Looks as if I'll be celebrating the whole year through. 
I'm glad there's no MOT test for me, I feel old just thinking of all the anniversaries.

I have quite a year coming up too, daughter #2's 30th in Nov and son #1 getting married in Sept but before that is Bel-hugging time!

It sounds like it'll be a year full of for you Bel and hopefully a very happy one. 50 years of marriage is well worth celebrating. My parents will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary (Ruby?) in April two days before my 30th birthday. Big sis is 40 in December and dad will be 75 in ten days time. Sounds like a year of milestone celebrations for us both.

You're right, Van, I haven't thought of the food yet. I think I'd best not start with that now.
My m-i-l was 75 last year, and my dad 80. You'd think that was enough for the next ten years.

it is my 21st this year, and my little sisters 16th I also have a sneaking suspicion that one of my parents will be 45, but cant remember which. Umm might be a milestone anniversary for them too *thinks* 19th nope the milestone there is next year. And big sis will be 27 this year, so no milestoe there.
