Bel, I have some fantastic little "pin savers" that I use to fasten my pins to my jacket lapel (I have a whole collection on my leather jacket) - the pin back is substituted with a little metal tube that has a screw you can tighten with a teeny tiny hex wrench, like the ones that come with IKEA furniture. I've never lost one since I bought those!

Hey Mal... Where can I get them from? I collect badges (it's part of being a Folkie! You don't want to know 
) and at the moment I use butterflies for pierced ear ear-rings. Please point me in the right direction... Thanks.

I got mine off e-bay, but have seen them for sale in shops, too.
Just google "pin saver" - the first hits all seem to be relevant. Can't post links here, they get yikesed, being commercial
